The Bahamas will be showcasing a new multi-million dollar advertising campaign to encourage tourists to book Bahamas holidays in 2013 and beyond. The campaign highlights the island nation's stunning natural landscapes including palm-fringed white sand beaches and turquoise ocean waters, and the laidback lifestyle and generous hospitality.

The Bahamas will be showcasing their tropical nation with the launch of a brand new multi-million dollar advertising campaign. The campaign will encourage tourists to book Bahamas holidays by highlighting the nation's tropical landscapes and laidback lifestyle with the help of a few well known celebrities.

Created by the Zimmerman agency, the first advert of the series will feature celebrities who are linked with the Caribbean island nation such as supermodel Shakara Ledard, illusionist David Copperfield and Rick Fox, an NBA star and actor.

The advert will be launched shortly with 30-second and 60-second TV shots, directed by Nigel Dick who has worked with several world famous celebrities such as Cher and Celine Dion. Lifestyle and celebrity photographer, Robb Aaron Gordon, will be responsible for shooting the print adverts.

"We are very excited about this new campaign. Celebrities have always come to The Bahamas for the beautiful beaches and water, and the utter sense of escape that our lifestyle here provides," explained Hon. Obie Wilchcombe, the Minister of Tourism for The Bahamas.

"What we really want to say with this campaign though is that you do not have to be a celebrity or millionaire to enjoy that same beauty. Behold, The Bahamas are right next door and totally within your reach."

The Bahamas is an island nation archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean, north of Cuba. The main island of Grand Bahama boasts beautiful pink sand beaches created from fractured seashell mixed with sand, an underwater limestone cave system, lush botanical gardens, and stunning nature reserves.

The collection of islands boasts white sandy beaches fringed by swaying palm trees and crystal clear turquoise waters that are perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving activities and during holidays in the Bahamas, holidaymakers can take tours of the thriving national parks; visit historic sites such as the Pompey Museum of Slavery and Emancipation; go on dolphin-watching trips; and take part in an array of exciting watersports.

Because of the tropical climate and beautiful landscapes, the country is a popular holiday spot for foreign travellers and there are many Bahamas hotels to choose from including beachfront resorts, self catering apartments, and charming BandBs.

In 2012, approximately five million visitors took holidays to the Bahamas and tourism officials are hoping that this number will increase further in 2013 with the help of the new advertising campaign.
