Four Seasons Marrakech, one of the best luxury hotels in Morocco after only one year of operation
The Four Seasons Marrakech recently celebrated its one year anniversary. Manager Jean Claude Wietzel reflects on a successful year which has seen the Four Seasons Marrakech quickly build a reputation as one of the best luxury hotels for anyone planning Morocco holidays. A commitment to customer service and the seamless interweaving of Moroccan culture into all aspects of the hotel are key contributors to the Four Seasons' success.
On 16th June 2012 the Four Seasons Resort in Marrakech celebrated the first year since it first opened its doors to welcome guests to the unique luxury Morocco holidays experience that only the Four Seasons brand can provide.
Jean Claude Wietzel, General Manager of the Four Seasons Marrakech underscored the hard work put into setting up one of the most luxurious hotels in Morocco with months spent recruiting some of the best Four Season managers from across the globe, along with a full staff of locals who embody not only the Moroccan spirit but also shared the Four Seasons’ devotion to customer service.
Ultimately however, it was clearly a labour of love as Wietzel pointed out all the keys factors that make Morroco one of the world’s best holiday destinations and certainly one that the Four Seasons could not resist to be a part of, “Marrakech has everything a traveller could desire – beautiful scenery, rich culture, excellent food and warm people”.

Since its launch a year ago, the Four Seasons has quickly become one of the best Marrakech hotels sweeping up a string of accolades along the way including being named one of the Best New Hotels in the World in Conde Nast Traveller Hot List 2012 as well as making its way onto TripAdvisor’s list of the Top 25 Hotels for Families in Africa. Additionally, at the 2011 International Hotel Awards, the Four Seasons Marrakech walked away the winner of the Best Hotel Architecture Morocco- a real testament to the work put in by Hill Glazier and Didier Lefort architects to pay homage to the rich Moroccan culture.
The Four Seasons Marrakech’s dedication to the rich Morrocan culture does not stop at the design with the onsite Maarifa Cultural Centre hosting many art and cultural exhibitions including the work of painter Alain Oggo. Guests at the Four Seasons Resort Marrakech can also take advantage of workshops in perfume making, Arabic calligraphy, argan oil making and mint tea rituals- all led by seasoned professionals. Additionally, those guests interested in taking something away from their cultural Morocco holidays can visit the bookshop where items for sale include local handicrafts including pieces of vintage mottled leather.
