Bermuda Department of Tourism launches special offer for Bermuda holidays

Holidaymakers have just been given another reason to put holidays in Bermuda on their winter break wish list. The island’s Department of Tourism has recently announced the launch of their “Compliments of Bermuda” deal which offers a free night stay at specified Bermuda hotels.

Guests booking in participating hotels by March 15th 2011 will receive their third, fourth or fifth night free dependant on the individual hotel’s deal. But the savings offered during Bermuda holidays don’t just end at the hotel. Under the new offer guests will also be presented with the Traveler’s Price Card on check in. Cardholders will have access to exclusive rates, discounted deals and other special offers at over 60 retailers across the island. The offer is only applicable for those guests travelling between November 1st 2011 and March 31st 2012 and booking for a minimum of three nights. Participating Bermuda hotels include the Surf Side Beach Club Hotel, The Reefs, Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort and Spa, Royal Palms Hotel, and Pompano Beach Club, to name a few.

With the November-March period dubbed as “Golf and Spa Season”, there promises to be something for everyone on planning their holidays to Bermuda during this special time. From pro-golfers to amateur putters and curious onlookers, Bermuda’s golf season brings holidaymakers with the perfect opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day on the green and enjoy the serene landscape at one of Bermuda’s seven championship golf courses. The breathtaking courses includes the Port Royal Golf course, home to the 2011 PGA Grand Slam of Golf, and the Mid-Ocean Club golf course, rated number two in the Caribbean and Mexico by Golfweek magazine.

Known best for their turquoise calm waters and signature pink sands, created by a combination of coral, shell particles and the remains of an organism called red foam, Bermuda holidays would not be complete without a visit to one of the island’s world renowned beaches. Horseshoe Bay, Tobacco Bay, Elbow Beach, Church Bay and Shelly Bay are some of Bermuda’s most popular beach spots. At any one of these pristine beaches, holidaymakers have the choice of snorkelling, scuba diving, kite boarding or just hiring a deck chair and enjoying the view.

For those interested in a touch of history, a day at the island’s first capital St George’s is must see. The town, said to be the oldest continuously inhabited British town in the Americas, was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage list in 2000. The locals have worked tirelessly to preserve the colonial charms at St George’s. A quiet stroll along the 17th century Barber’s Alley or Aunt Peggy’s Lane will be sure to captivate tourists and passers-by.
