First Rocco Forte Hotel in Abu Dhabi Scheduled to Open in November

Rocco Forte Hotels has announced the opening of its first hotel in the Middle East; the Rocco Forte Abu Dhabi.

The property will soon be open to tourists taking Abu Dhabi holidays from 7th November, 2011 and is a joint project between Rocco Forte Hotels, the Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) and United Arab Emirates-based Al Farida Investments Company.

The wave-shaped hotel has 281 luxury rooms and suites, seven meeting rooms, a business centre, a ballroom with capacity for up to 500 guests, and a number of Chinese/ Japanese, South American and Italian-themed restaurants and bars.

Situated in the heart of the United Arab Emirate’s capital, the Rocco Forte Abu Dhabi stands out from other Abu Dhabi hotels with its unique glass wave-shaped structure and panel of blue and green glass that create a mosaic effect.

During Abu Dhabi holidays, guests can relax amid elegant furnishings and decor in rooms and suites that feature modern amenities such as plasmas TVs, iPod docking stations, and large marble and limestone bathrooms.

The Executive Floor offers luxury rooms and suites where guests can enjoy complementary access to the 8th floor Executive Lounge and the service of a dedicated concierge.

Travellers taking luxury holidays to the Middle East can indulge at the hotel’s luxury spa that features separate facilities for male and female guests, a traditional Moroccan Hamman, a modern Health Club and a 25-metre outdoor swimming pool.

Rocco Forte Hotels currently operates 12 hotels across Europe including Brown’s Hotel in London and the Hotel Savoy in Florence and the company plans to add properties in Cairo, Luxor, Marrakech and Jeddah in the near future.

The Chairman of the European luxury hotel brand, Sir Rocco Forte, said: “There’s a Beirut property which will be announced shortly.

“In Doha, again, there are so many hotels with the World Cup coming up. I’ve looked at one or two things there, but the right thing hasn’t come up.”

Talking about the lucrative market of Dubai hotels, he added: “The thing about Dubai is that there are so many hotels already here.

“There were one or two things that I looked at, but the right opportunity didn’t come along.

“I think, in due course, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t come to Dubai.” he said on a final note, showing optimism and confidence about entering the Dubai holidays market at some point in the future.
