Visitors to the National Geographic Store in London will be able to discover the culture, heritage and landmarks of Abu Dhabi next week through a brand new photographic exhibition.

The expo will be held at the Regent Street store from Monday 29th August for one week and will showcase many reasons as to why travellers should book Abu Dhabi holidays.

Locals and visitors to London will be able to learn more about the United Arab Emirate through forty photographs which belong to the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA). The photographs were taken by several leading international and regional photographers who have managed to capture a number of scenes from the country that depict its culture, wealth, heritage, leisure activities and famous landmarks.

Nabeel Al Zarouni, ADTA’s Country Manager for UK & Ireland, explained: “This exhibition will give Abu Dhabi an extremely high profile in London during one of the busiest times of the year.

“In addition, the house chefs at National Geographic’s in-store café will create two special Abu Dhabi dishes that will go on sale the same week.”

The majority of travellers who take holidays to Abu Dhabi are from the United Kingdom and during the first six months of 2011, the number of UK visitors increased by 20 per cent compared to the same period last year with Abu Dhabi hotels recording a total of 72,998 guests during this period.

Al Zarouni added: “National Geographic has been inspiring people to care about the planet for over a century – we hope that joining forces with them for this Abu Dhabi promotion will also inspire travellers to seek out a welcome in our emirate.”

Visitors to the exhibition who are inspired to book Abu Dhabi holidays will be able to start their adventure by flying with the country’s national carrier, Etihad Airways, who operate routes from London Heathrow, Manchester and Dublin and other UK airports.
