Sacha Parkinson, who plays Sian Powers in the British ITV soap, Coronation Street, has been busy enjoying her Cyprus holidays away from the dismal UK weather.

The teenage star of the TV soap stripped down to a red and white stripy bikini and New York Yankees red and white baseball cap, while she frolicked in the sea enjoying the sunny weather on the Mediterranean island earlier this week.

The 19-year-old and her group of friends soaked up the sunshine during their holidays in Ayia Napa. Sacha’s boyfriend, property surveyor Josh Wakefield, accompanied the actress on the trip, but was busy enjoying his Cyprus holidays separately with a group of friends when some young lads started cavorting with Sacha while she cooled off in the azure waters.

Sacha’s character, Sian, is in a lesbian relationship with Sophie Webster, who is played by close friend off the set, Brooke Vincent. Brooke recently said that they sometimes use their on-screen relationship to get them out of tricky situations when out and about.

She explained: “Sometimes for a laugh we pretend we are a real couple. We were out in London recently and this boy was desperate to talk to Sacha. He wouldn't leave her alone. I was so fed up, I said, ‘Mate, do you want to stop talking to my bird?’ And then we both marched off hand in hand!”

The beautiful island nation of Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and a popular tourist destination for travellers from all over the globe.

Situated approximately 50 miles south of Turkey, the region boasts a warm and sub-tropical climate; perfect for relaxing holidays in Cyprus.

The island has two mountain ranges: The Troodos Mountains and the Kyrenia Range; white sand beaches; turquoise warm ocean waters and lakes; and lush green forests, hills and national parks.

The northern third of the island is occupied by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and there are many popular tourist spots there that offer an array of good value-for-money, family and upscale luxury Cyprus hotels.

Among the top tourists resorts to find here there is Paphos, a coastal city located in the south west region of the island; and Larnaca, a pretty city on the southern coast that is home to an array of historical sites and monuments including the ruins of Ancient Kitium. Last but certainly not least we have Ayia Napa, which is a trendy holiday destination, particularly for youngsters taking holidays to Cyprus.

Ayia Napa can be found on the south eastern tip of Cyprus and is a hotspot for travellers seeking sandy beaches, turquoise waters, a myriad of water sports, and a wide selection of restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

The former fishing village is now a thriving town that offers Ayia Napa hotels to suit every budget, and the central Square features high end shops, gourmet restaurants and late bars.
