Appointed new General Manager of Salalah Marriott Resort in Oman
Michel Pierre Sursock has been appointed as the new General Manager of the luxury Oman hotel, Salalah Marriott Resort, and will be bringing with him 33 years of managerial experience and expertise within the travel and hospitality industry.
The Salalah Marriott Resort has announced that it has appointed Michel Pierre Sursock as the new General Manager of the luxury Oman hotel. Starting his career in the hospitality industry in 1977 within the room division department, Sursock has worked for a number of renowned hotel brands, focusing his careers on the Sale and marketing sector.
In 1977, Sursock was employed as the Senior Receptionist for Novotel in Sharjah and Night Supervisor for the Holiday Inn in Sharjah.
Between 1985 and 1991, he concentrated on the Sales and marketing division and worked across a number of five-star properties throughout many different countries including Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
Sursock worked for media companies in Jeddah for two years to develop his interest in marketing and in 1997 he helped set up the sales and marketing department of the conference centre for the Leylaty Ballroom and Conference Centre. He then went onto work as a Director of Sales and Marketing as well as a number of senior executive roles across a range of five-star hotels and resorts in Dubai and Lebanon.
In 2007, Sursock was appointed as the General Manager for the Royal Tulip Mirbat Resort and Spa in Salalah which later became Marriott's first luxury Oman hotel.
After spending two years working in Oman hospitality industry, Sursock has gained a strong understanding of the Oman holidays market and has also developed valuable relationships with the community.
Sursock said of his appointment: "It is an extreme pleasure for me to be back at the resort. The Marriott Resort has established itself as one of the finest five star properties in the region and it will be my main priority to extend this development and ensure that the renowned high class quality and Marriott Service will be delivered to our guests."
