Russians flock to Dominican Republic for Punta Cana Holidays

The Civil Aviation Institute announced last week that after a series of successful marketing campaigns, ten Russian airline flights will be bringing passengers on their Punta Cana holidays next week.

Punta Cana executives, Frank Rainieri and his wife and son were praised by Jose Tomas Perez for "the outstanding result from the marketing carried out in Russia, promoting the country's natural beauty and the climate of peace, which continues attracting not only civil aviation worldwide, but also private aircraft tourism."

The announcement was made at a luncheon at the 29th Assembly of the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (CLAC), in Punta Cana which was hosted for the heads of aviation from 22 countries and several directors from Latin America, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, the United States and Malaysia.

Situated on the east coast of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana has been a famous destination for travellers on Dominican Republic holidays since the 1970's, offering an array of beautiful sandy beaches, surrounding turquoise Caribbean Sea, and several luxury Punta Cana hotels and resorts.

The area of Bavaro offers tourists a range of shopping malls, restaurants and vibrant nightlife during their Punta Cana holidays, and a number of European hotel chains featuring Spanish and Dominican architecture and design.

Punta Cana is home to numerous designer golf courses such as Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Nick Price, P.B Dye and Tom Fazio, and with more courses under development the region is set to become the Mecca for Caribbean golf.

Tourists can enjoy a selection of activities including scuba diving and snorkeling in the warms waters, catamaran trips, boat excursions, fishing, speed boat rides, sailing, kayaking, shopping in designer boutiques, horse riding, hiking through natural reserves and wildlife parks, and plenty of entertainment every night.

The Dominican Republic's Tourism Minister, Felix Jimenez, has recently announced that the island nation is expecting five million tourists in 2012, with the help of numerous resort, golf courses and marina developments.
