Jermaine Dupri supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the Raffles Dubai
Music star, songwriter and producer Jermaine Dupri recently took time off to support the Breast Cancer Awareness month during his Dubai holidays at the Raffles Dubai Hotel.
Taking charitable Dubai holidays during the pink "Breast Cancer Awareness Month" Grammy award-winning songwriter and producer Jermaine Dupri took time out of his busy schedule while in Dubai to support the Raffles Dubai Hotel Breast Cancer Awareness Month private reception on the terrace of RED Lounge. Sporting an official Pink Pony breast cancer awareness tie by Polo Ralph Lauren, Jermaine Dupri added his special touch by making it a point to greet and take pictures with each table as a way to thank everyone for their support in raising awareness for the cause.
Sarah Omolewu, Public Relations Manager at Raffles Dubai organised the event by gathering Dubais top media, radio personalities, bloggers and socialites. She urged everyone to use their various outlets to write features, blog, facebook and tweet to advance awareness about breast cancer and urge people to get tested.
She declared - "Nearly everyone worldwide knows someone that has been affected by breast cancer. While we are waiting for a cure, early detection is the key to saving lives. Thousands of lives could be saved each year if consciousness and education is increased. It is vital that the influential personalities in each society globally utilize their various platforms to advance awareness by urging both women and men to get tested. "
Latest statistics show that breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UAE and the second leading cause of death accounting for 28 percent of all female deaths in the UAE with a mortality rate of 44 percent, due to late diagnosis. Raffles Dubai is committed to increasing consciousness and show support by raising funds in support of the Burjuman Safe and Sound Breast Cancer Awareness Program.
In addition to sponsoring dozens of colleagues in the annual walk, the Raffles Dubai is hosting a Pink Day at Raffles Amrita Spa on 22nd October, where 100% of revenue from every spa treatment and salon offering that day will go directly to the Safe and Sound Program.
A formal cheque presentation of money raised will be presented to the Safe and Sound Program at the walk. Raffles Hotels & Resorts are committed to supporting environmental and community care initiatives via the Raffles REACH (Rendering Encouragement, Assistance, Care and Hope) Program, by leading the way to support worthy causes worldwide.
