New Area General Manager for Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort
Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas have appointed Arno Nicolussi Moretto as the new Area General Manager of Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort ahead of the scheduled opening of new Bali, China and Oman hotels in 2011.
Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas are experiencing busy times with the launch of new China, Bali and Oman hotels and now the appointment of a new Area General Manager for the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort in Abu Dhabi.
Arno Nicolussi Moretto took over as Area General Manager from the recently retired Didier Tourneboeuf last month and will face the task of driving the strategic growth of the luxury property into its second year of success.
Nicolussi Moretto stated: "I look forward to building on the success of Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort and Desert Islands Resort and Spa, working with both of the dedicated teams to ensure that two of the region's most unique destination resorts go from strength to strength and firmly establish Anantara's position as the leader in premiere hotel experiences."
Austrian national, Nicolussi Moretto, graduated from the Hotel College Schloss Klessheim and spent time working for the InterContinental Hotels group in various countries across the world including, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Malaysia.
He entered the luxury hotels market working for the Jumeirah beach hotel in Dubai, the Ritz in Taiwan, and the Swissotel group in China and Egypt and then returned to IHG as the General Manager for the Olympic InterContinental and the Shanghai InterContinental hotels.
His new role will include responsibilities for the Desert Islands Resort and Spa in Abu Dhabi, the sister company of Anantara in the United Arab Emirates.

Anantara are also entering the market of luxury Oman hotels next year with the launch of the Al Madina A'Zarqa Resort and Spa situated on the peninsula of the Gulf of Oman.
The new resort will offer high end Oman holidays for travellers within traditional Arabian architecture and beautiful scenery comprising crystal clear ocean waters and soft sandy beaches.
The new addition to Oman hotels is scheduled to open in early 2011 and will feature Italian and Thai restaurants, a wine cellar and lounge club, a central swimming pool, a beach club bar, a pool bar, a fitness centre, a business centre and library with wireless internet, meeting rooms, boutiques, and a luxury Anantara Spa.
