Hurghada Holidays trumped by El Gouna as egyptian tourist hotspot
Egypt is one of the most popular holiday destinations for British travellers despite the ongoing recovery of the recent global recession, and while Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada holidays remain consistent, El Gouna is emerging as the hotspot.
British travellers are still flocking to Egypt for their luxury escapes despite the recent economic downturn, with El Gouna holidays among the firm favourites.
The UK Office for National Statistics has revealed that in comparison to last year's figures, the number of British travellers booking luxury vacations in Egypt has substantially grown and while popular Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada holidays remain consistent with tourists from the UK, El Gouna is emerging as the hotspot in Egypt.
Egypt has seen a 13% increase in the number of British tourists according to the latest information from the ONS's International Passenger Survey and El Gouna has already seen a 92 percent rise in booking enquiries so far this year.
Managing Director of the property experts company Experience International, Steven Worboys, said: "El Gouna is a beautiful, up and coming resort on the Red Sea coast offering an unrivalled lifestyle. With 10km of golden sandy beaches, islands, crystal clear lagoons and a warm year round climate, it really is the perfect holiday destination."
The development of luxury El Goana hotels has led to the destination becoming an exclusive choice for travellers. An average one week holiday for a two-bedroom property in El Goana costs tourists £480, compared to the same size property for Sharm el Sheikh or Hurghada holidays which cost visitors £270-£280 per week.
The Ancient Sands Golf Resort is becoming a valued investment because of its stunning location and two year rental guarantee. The resort has been developed around an 18-hole Karl Litten designed golf course and offers residents and guests breathtaking views of the sparkling lagoon waters, mountains and lush green golf course.
El Goana is a tourist resort developed by Orascom Hotels and Development situated just north of Hurghada on the Red Sea Coast. Tourists can take part in a range of activities including scuba diving, snorkelling, windsurfing, kite surfing, parasailing and water skiing on the shores of the two main beaches, Zeytuna Beach and Mangroovy Beach. The small town has a number of restaurants, bars, shops and even its own decompression chamber for any diving accidents.
