The Independent has reviewed the Antigua hotel, Curtain Bluff, a cherished institution amongst repeat visitors and newcomers to the island since 1962 offering guests palm-infringed white sandy beaches, 72 rooms and suites, and charming traditions.
The charming Antigua hotel, Curtain Bluff Resort was reviewed by The Independent recently highlighting it as one of Antigua's charming and family-run properties which still attracts loyal customers each year.
The luxury Caribbean all inclusive resort is situated near Old Road on the idyllic island of Antigua and set upon white sandy beaches and swaying palm trees, surrounded by the shore-lapping waves of the Caribbean Sea.
The Antigua hotel opened to the public with 22 rooms in 1962 after its proprietor, Howard Hulford, made his dream come true. The hotel was a popular haunt for friends and family and over the years it has established a number of loyal customers including locals and tourists enjoying Antigua holidays.
Despite his Hulford's passing in March 2009, the luxury Antigua hotel is still a family-run establishment and Hulford's wife, Chelle, still resides there.
Since it's opening in 1962, the resort's accommodation has expanded and now offers 72 luxury rooms and suites which run along one of the hotel's two beaches with views looking out to the Caribbean sea.
The rooms feature spacious terraces or balconies, floor to ceiling windows, elegant furnishings and a range of modern luxury amenities including over-sized Jacuzzis and air conditioning.
The expansions of the Antigua hotel also including the luxury 5,000 square-foot and two storey spa with five treatment rooms with private balconies. Guests can enjoy a range of invigorating treatments with natural ingredients from the spa's herb garden or sit back and relax in the outdoor lounge before unwinding in the hot water plunge pool.
Guests can enjoy a selection of local and international cuisine at the Curtain Bluff Resort and every week a beach barbeque takes place with live music from a steel-drum band.
