In an effort to learn more about what Antigua holidays have to offer the visitor, Antigua's Tourism Minister has decided to embark on a series of trips and tours in order to gain insight into Antigua's attractions from first-hand experience.

Looking for ways to boost Caribbean holidays in Antigua, Tourism Minister, John Maginley has embarked on a series of familiarisation trips to various Antigua hotels and tourist attractions in an effort to gather first- hand experience on the nation’s chief tourism products and main holiday packages.

Maginley's most recent trip took him along the Fig Tree Drive where he made a stop at the Antigua Rain Forest Canopy Tours and participated in the thrilling zip-line adventure.

Counting as one of the main attractions to be enjoyed during Antigua holidays, the Antigua Rainforest Canopy Tour is a unique eco-tour through Antigua’s lush rainforest where guests embark on a 21 element journey through lush greenery, high above the trees and with spectacular bird's eye views to admire.

There are 9 zip-lines, 2 suspension bridges, a unique, completely safe 36 feet controlled descent ‘LEAP OF FAITH’ and a 9 element challenge course. More than enough for holidaymakers to take their pick from when deciding to live a small adventure during their holidays in Antigua.

“It was an exhilarating experience” - the Minister exclaimed of the tour that he enjoyed alongside guests from the Sandals Resort.

“I was invited by the proprietors who wanted me to experience the fun and excitement that has become synonymous with The Zipline Adventure”. - he continued.

According to Maginley he placed a stamp of approval on the adventure and suggests that the adventure should not be limited to visitors on Antigua holidays, but that Antiguans and Barbudans should also embark on the adventure for themselves.

Furthermore, as a follow up to this, the Tourism Minister has also set plans to visit the Stingray City and engage in one of the many Circumnavigation Tours on one of the larger Catamarans, and thus continue on his journey to experience what Antigua holidays are all about.
