Anse Cocos on La Digue Island rated amongst world's top undiscovered beaches

Paradizo.com, a company which specialises in luxury holidays and memorable holiday experiences, has unveiled the World's Top Undiscovered Beaches for 2010, listing a secluded beach in La Digue in the Seychelles amongst the favourites. Situated in the Seychelles, east of Praslin Island, La Digue is one of the largest inhabited islands and is famous for its stunning beaches and tropical surroundings.

While many of the beaches on La Digue are occupied by guests staying at Seychelles hotels, Anse Coco is so isolated that tourists on Seychelles holidays can only reach the beach on foot via Grand Anse or Petit Anse or trekking across the island via the Nid'Aigle Mountain. Visitor can swim or snorkel in the sparkling Indian Ocean waters or relax on the quiet palm infringed white soft sand.

As well as La Digue beaches, the findings from Paradizo.com listed the following beaches as top favourites for travellers:

  • Koh Lanta – Situated on Thailand's most southern island in the Krabi Province. Travellers can enjoy the tranquil environment on Koh Lanta beach and luxury secluded beachfront villa accommodation is available at Pimalai Resort.
  • The Eight Month Beach on Yasawa Island in Fiji – a perfect hideaway for travellers and the island's best kept secret as it is only accessible by private boat.
  • Santa Teresa Beach in Costa Rica – Perfect for surfing enthusiasts and honeymooners; this beaches offers excellent surf conditions and an isolated beach surrounded by a lush tropical rainforest.
  • Whitehaven on Australia's Whitsunday Island – This beach features pristine bone white sand and is great for sailing enthusiasts who can sail their boats to the island.
  • Maha'ulepu Beach in Kauai Island in Hawaii – The undiscovered beach is surrounded by mountains and valleys and features cinnamon sand.
  • Mozambique's private island of Medjumbe in the Quirimbas Archipelago – The isolated island offers numerous gardens rich in wildlife, and secluded beach accommodation for travellers looking to escape the rest of the world.
