Air Arabia 'Egypt' launch first of new Egypt flights
Alexandria-based Air Arabia Group launched the first of their Egypt flights under the name of Air Arabia 'Egypt' this week, marking the joint venture between the Middle East's leading Travco Group and Air Arabia, low cost carriers in the Middle East.
Air Arabia 'Egypt' launched their first Egypt flights this week as the first commercial flight left Burj Al Arab Airport in Alexandria on 1 June 2010, and headed for Khartoum. The new venture Air Arabia 'Egypt' has been launched in a joint partnership by the Middle East and North Africa's leading low cost carrier, Air Arabia, and Travco, the largest hospitality and travel group in the Middle East.
The launch of the new series of Egypt flights will be followed by flights to Kuwait, Beirut, and Amman and Air Arabia 'Egypt' plans to expand its range of destinations to main cities and resorts across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
Speaking at an official ceremony in Cairo which was held to celebrate the launch, Hamed El Chiaty, Chairman and CEO of the Travco Group, announced:
"Today represents a milestone in the history of the travel and hospitality industry here in Egypt - and for all of us at the Travco Group and Air Arabia. For more than three decades, we have focused on fostering the development of an umbrella of brands that contribute to the diversification of the domestic tourism industry, which is vital to the Egyptian economy."
"With the launch of Air Arabia 'Egypt,' we further expand the opportunities for travellers from across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region to visit the Arab world's most-populous nation, whether for business, leisure or personal reasons, while also increasing opportunities for Egypt-based individuals and companies to reach out across the markets we serve," he continued.
"Together with Air Arabia, we look forward to further expanding the range of destinations and services provided by Air Arabia 'Egypt' in the months and years to come."
The new series of Egypt flights will provide a range of destinations for travellers across the EMEA and the opportunity to enjoy Egypt holidays all year round. The new routes will add to the existing 60 destinations which are currently offered by Air Arabia to cities and resorts across the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe.
Chairman of Air Arabia Group, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Thani, spoke of the launch which will offer travellers more options when booking their holidays in Egypt. He said:
"We are extremely pleased to announce the launch of operations of Air Arabia 'Egypt,' the newest member of the rapidly growing Air Arabia family of companies. Complementing our existing operations in the United Arab Emirates and Morocco, this new low-cost carrier will provide the same consistently high level of service, operational reliability and value-for-money fares that have become the hallmark of Air Arabia.
"We thank the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority and the management of Burj Al Arab International Airport as well as all our strategic partners for marking the launch of Air Arabia 'Egypt'".
He added: "Working together with the Travco Group, with whom we share a vision of facilitating the economic growth and positive contribution to the Egyptian tourism sector, we remain committed to creating further opportunities for affordable and reliable travel across this young and vibrant region."
