Bahamas hotel is "looking forward to the redevelopment of Cable Beach"
Executives of a luxury Bahamas hotel are looking forward to restarting negotiations with Baha Mar resort developers over the changes to the infrastructure and design of the Cable Beach strip on the Caribbean island.
The Superclubs Breezes Bahamas is situated on the edge of the Baha Mar development area and will be affected mainly by the new road network which is scheduled to be built nearby and will affect any expansion plans for the luxury Bahamas hotel.
Superclubs Executive Chairman, John Issa, said:
"I am looking forward to the redevelopment of Cable Beach. At the moment you have Nassau Beach, which is closed and to be demolished. That doesn't lend itself to the sort of ambiance of the area. So the development as we all know is long overdue and I am glad to see it is starting up again."
The Breezes Bahamas hotel previously had to delay expansion of the resort a number of years ago as their expansion plans conflicted with the scheduled road changes.
Mr Issa continued:
"Once the road work is completed we will then be in a position to work on starting our expansion. I don't know how long the (road work) will take. The sooner the better. You don't want a lot of construction taking place around you, and you don't want your visitors to feel they are in a construction site."
The Breezes hotel provides luxury accommodation and facilities for travellers all over the world on Bahamas holidays. With 391 air-conditioned guestrooms and luxury suites with views of the ocean or the beautiful tropical gardens, the Bahamas hotel provides everything guests could need on their all inclusive Caribbean holidays.
Mr Issa explained that the negotiations talks would include talks about any changes which may cost the resort and said that the hotel's entrance may have to be redesigned depending on the plans of the new road network.
"It already has impacted the bottom line in that we would have liked to have had the additional bedrooms. We were adding a new spa, additional pools, and 200 new bedrooms. It has had an affect on us by not having been able to start back in 2006 when we got the planning approval."
Mr Issa concluded that he did not feel the Breezes Bahamas Hotel and the Baha Mar Resort would be in competition with one and other as they both offer different holiday experiences and the addition will improve tourism number to the Caribbean region.
