BEDY Oceanline has announced that the new inter-island ferry service will soon be launched and will take residents and travellers on Grenada holidays between the islands at a third of the cost of airfares which is the only current method of transport.

Travellers on Grenada Holidays Will Soon be Able to Use New Caribbean Inter-island Ferry Service

CEO of the Grenada-based owners and operators of the ferry service, Benjamin Ross, was apologetic as he announced last week that the company had made significant progress with a series of logistical matters and is hopeful that the service will be operating soon.

The new service will provide regular transport between Barbados, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and Trinidad for residents of the islands and travellers on Grenada holidays and Caribbean holidays.

BEDY Oceanline will be operating two passenger speedboat vessels initially which will carry up to 300 residents to and from home and tourists to and from their Caribbean hotels.

One of the ferry vessels will be based in St Vincent and will operate between St Vincent and Barbados and St. Lucia, while the other vessel will be based in Grenada and provide transport between Grenada and Trinidad and Barbados.

The new inter-island ferry service will be launched to provide affordable transport for islanders and travellers on Grenada holidays who cannot afford the expensive airfares between the Caribbean islands.

Established since October 2004, BEDY Travel & Associates, owners of BEDY Oceanline, have a mission: “To provide an alternative and affordable means of transport by promoting, ensuring and maintaining a high level of safety, reliability and professionalism for all passengers and stakeholders thus contributing to the process of regional integration."

With a number of Grenada hotels aimed at all budget ranges; the new ferry service is welcomed by residents of the island and travellers planning Grenada holidays who are looking at cheaper alternatives to travel between the luxury Caribbean islands.

As more travellers are taking Caribbean holidays because of the warmer climate, sunnier skies, and value for money accommodation, transport is an important factor within the region’s tourist industry.

The launch of the new ferry services will not only provide affordable fares but will also help generate further visitor numbers and tourism business to the individual Caribbean islands.
