Dominican Republic holidays experience a "constant" growth in last 3 months

According to Dominican minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier Garcia, the Dominican Republic has been 'constantly' growing as a holiday destination over the last 3 months when compared against last year's figures during the same period.

Dominican Republic holidays have regained their throne as a leading Caribbean holiday destinations with a continuous growth overt the last three months. Demonstrating once more their reigning over this tropical region, Dominican Republic holidays stand out for the simple beauty of its pristine beaches, top class resorts and great value holiday packages. This seems to be their magical recipe for success and the underlying reason as to why more and more tourists have been flocking down this little Caribbean island to enjoy fabulous Dominican Republic holidays.
The Dominican Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier García, said that Dominican Republic holidays’ popularity as a holiday destination has been continuously and ‘constantly’ growing during the last three months when compared against the same period last year.
“That’s shows the industry’s definitive recovery” - Garcia said.
Last November tourist arrivals to the country climbed 6% more than the same month in 2009, with visits to the country by non-resident foreigners rising by 4.49 %, whereas those of non-resident Dominicans and international holidaymakers jumped up by 16.67%.
When speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newest of Dominican Republic hotels, the Nouvelles Frontieres, in Uvero Alto, Punta Cana, the Minister highlighted that as many as 284,824 tourists took Dominican Republic holidays during the month of November, surpassing the November 2008 arrivals of 286,469 and signalling a notable increase of 16,355 holidaymakers representing a 6.09 % increase.
Garcia also added that of that amount 41,167 were non-resident Dominicans, more than the 35,284 in 2008, pointing to a significant increase of 5,883 visitors taking Dominican Republic holidays in that month, or in other words (or figures) a total 16.67 % higher. On a last note, he concluded by adding that 243,472 non-resident foreigners visited in that period, compared with the 233,185 figure in 2008, which represents an increase of 10,472 additional visitors and a 4.49 % rise.
