Santiago de Cuba prepares for increase in visitors this winter holiday season

Santiago de Cuba are making preparations for the forthcoming influx of travellers taking Cuba holidays this winter by providing 700,000 new hotels rooms. The high season runs from November to March and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors taking holidays in Cuba and staying in central Cuba hotels and resorts.

The stunning island, which is located in the Caribbean, has recently received 2 million visitors and the travel and tourism sector are looking forward to receiving high numbers to the region over the winter months of 2009 and 2010.

Natural, historic, and cultural attractions are amongst some of the reasons why more people are choosing to take Cuba holidays. A wide range of restaurants, nightclubs, and Cuba hotels are now available in the Caribbean region allowing travellers more choice when they visit.

Santiago de Cuba is situated 540 miles south east of Cuba's capital city, Havana, and has a bay connected to the Caribbean Sea.
Surrounded by natural beauty, the city is fast becoming a popular tourist destination with both travellers from overseas and travellers from the rest of Cuba.

With signs of the global recession coming to an end in most areas, the increase of hotel rooms has arrived just in time as the travel industry recovers and travellers start planning their relaxing breaks once again. Detailed information on the range of hotel promotions, restaurants, nightclubs, beaches, carnivals, and attractions is now available for visitors on Cuba holidays at Infortur's office at the airport and in the city.

Santiago's Tourism Ministry office is optimistic about the future of the region and tourism workers are working hard to ensure the region remains a popular Caribbean holiday destination.
