Day 1: Fly overnight to Hanoi

Depart the UK for your overnight flight to Hanoi

Day 2: Arrive in Hanoi

On arrival in Vietnam's vibrant capital, you will be greeted by your local guide in the ariport and transferred to your hotel where the rest of the days is your to explore the city.

Day 3: Halong Bay Cruise

Today you can enjoy the experience of a lifetime with a cruise around the awe-inspiring Halong Bay.
Cruise out into the bay and explore the stunning scenery of islands rising out of the water with secret grottoes to explore. After a delicious seafood lunch on board the boat, you’ll get the chance to visit Thien Cung Cave and Dau Go Cave where the famous Vietnamese General, Tran Hung Dao, stored hundreds of weapons in 1288.
Return to the Wharf in the evening where you’ll be transferred back to your hotel in Hanoi.

Day 4: City tour of Hanoi and overnight train

After breakfast you can enjoy a full tour of Vietnam’s capital with sites including the Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his traditional stilt house and One-Pillar Pagoda. Carry on to Vietnam’s first university where you will discover the majestic 1,000 year old Temple of Literature.
In the afternoon you can gain an insight into the cultures of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups at the Ethnology Museum before enjoying a drive around Hanoi’s centre and charming Old Quarter via cyclo.
The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy any last minute shopping or sightseeing before transferring to Hanoi Railway Station for your overnight train to Dong Hoi.

Day 5: head for Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and Paradise Cave

When you arrive at Dong Hoi Train Station, your local guide will be ready to meet you and transfer you to a local restaurant for a delicious breakfast.
After breakfast, it is time to carry on to Phoong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is here you’ll be able to explore the only recently discovered Paradise Cave where you can wonder through some of its accessible routes of this 31km long cave!
You will then be transferred back to your homestay in Phong Nga where the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore.

Day 6: Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park exploration

Today is a day filled with adventure to help you explore this stunning national park.
The day includes an idyllic boat ride through the national park as well as an exciting ride on a traditional Vietnamese dragon boat to the impressive Phong Nha Cave.
After lunch, the real adventure begins with the chance to kayak down the Song Son River before an exhilarating zip line adventure in the Dark Cave
In the afternoon you’ll kayak back to Chay Lap Farmstay where you can enjoy the evening relaxing.

Day 7: Travel onto Hue via the DMZ

Today it is time to leave the national park and head onto Hue.
En-route you will be able to learn more about the Vietnam War by exploring some old relics left in the DMZ, an area set alongside the Ben Hai River. It is here that you will be able to see the Hien Luong Bridge that crosses the river that acted as a former border between North and South Vietnam and the Vinh Moc Tunnels.
You will arrive in Hue in the early afternoon.
In the afternoon you’ll get a chance to explore some of the city’s most popular attractions including the Imperial Citadel, Forbidden Purple City and Tu Duc Tomb.

Day 8: Travel to Hoi An with optional cycling tour

Today you get to decide whether to drive to the charming town of Hoi An via the Marble Mountains or take the opportunity to explore a bit mroe of rural Vietnam with a rewarding cycling tour through the coutnryside and along the coastline for an additional price.

Day 9: Hoi An morning tour 

After breakfast, you can enjoy a wander through the ancient streets of Hoi An where you’ll find an array of restaurants, cafes and outlets for local artists, craftsmen and tailors to discover. Take a stroll along the 16th Century Japanese bridge and enjoy the vibrant fusion of Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese influences in the town.
Take the afternoon to explore at your own pace.

Day 10: Travel to Ho Chi Minh City

Enjoy some last minute exploring before transferring to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel and the rest of the day is free for you to explore.

Day 11: City tour with Cu Chi Tunnels
 
Today you get the chance to explore the famous Cu Chi Tunnels where you can explore the maze like tunnels that the Viet Cong used during the war.
After lunch, you can enjoy a fun city tour with sites including the Reunification palace and the Notre Dame Palace before ending at the vibrant Ben Thanh Market where you are sure to enjoy haggling for some bargains.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

Day 12: Mekong Delta Cruise

Today you get the chance to explore life on the Mekong Delta with a blissful cruise.
After breakfast, drive to the Mekong Delta and board the classic Bassac boat. Watch day to day life on the Mekong carry on around you with villages and markets passing by and take the opportunity to explore the local villages on the river banks.

Day 13: Visit a floating market on the Mekong before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City

Enjoy breakfast on board the Bassac as you cruise on towards Can Tho City.
Say goodbye to life on board and transfer onto a local boat to visit the Cai Rang Floating Market, considered to be the largest in the Mekong Delta.
Return to Ninh Kieu Pier where you’ll be picked up and transferred back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 14: Depart Ho Chi Minh City

Enjoy the morning at leisure in the city before you are transferred to Ho Chi Minh City airport where you board your departure flight and say goodbye to Vietnam.
