Roosevelt New York Hotel

4 stars

Opened in 1924, the iconic ‘Grand Dame of Madison Avenue’ is an Italian Renaissance-style building that spans an entire city block between Madison Avenue and 45th Street. Named in honour of President Theodore Roosevelt – there is a bronze cast of Teddy in the hotel’s neo-classical lobby – this high-society fixture was restored to its original Roaring Twenties grandeur in 1997 at a cost of $65 million. Glamour prevails at this NYC landmark; boasting 1,015 superbly-appointed guest rooms, including 33 luxurious suites. Classic architecture is fused with Art Deco styling, antique furnishings and state-of-the-art design touches. Most dazzling are the ballrooms; the Grand Ballroom with its Tiffany chandeliers and iron-laced balconies, and the smaller Terrace Ballroom with its sky-mural ceiling and silk-draped arched windows. Sample speciality cocktails at sleek rooftop bar Mad46, take lunch at the upscale Vander Bar and enjoy the fabulous buffet spread at the Roosevelt Grill - the very setting where Guy Lombardo and his orchestra performed ‘Auld Lang Syne’ over the American radio airwaves for the first time, kicking off the now-cherished New Year’s Eve tradition. Located in Midtown Manhattan, this elegant heritage hotel is close to NYC’s must-see attractions including Broadway, Rockefeller Centre, Fifth Avenue, Grand Central Station, Broadway and the Empire State Building.

  • Classic Twenties-style decor mixed with contemporary luxury Design-conscious guests will adore Art Deco touches throughout; from marbled columns and antique wallpaper to 17th-century mirrors and Swarovski crystal chandeliers. Guest rooms mix period decor with ultra-modern touches such as lavish bedding with five plush pillows, flat-screen HD televisions, and desks with ergonomic chairs.
  • Fabulously located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan Located adjacent to Grand Central Terminal, the Roosevelt Hotel New York is so close to the city's major attractions that there is little need to ever take the subway. The Rockefeller Centre, Times Square and Fifth Avenue are just minutes away.
  • On-trend bars and upscale restaurants Perched on the 19th floor, sleek rooftop bar Mad46 affords spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline and serves signature cocktails and delicious light fare. Equally appealing is the much-celebrated mahogany-panelled Madison Club Lounge with its newly-added Billiards Room.
