DAY 1

Welcome to the Sultanate of Oman!

Your Elite representative awaits you in the main arrival hall of Muscat International Airport. You will be driven to your centrally located hotel. The remainder of the day offers free time for you to explore and relax with the hotel in walking distance to the beach and dining places - a pleasant leisure time before embarking on adventure-filled days from tomorrow!

DAY 2

Highlights of Muscat

Today you visit the 5th largest mosque in the world, the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Passing by the diplomatic quarter, you will be taken to the oldest and largest market in the country, Muttrah souq. Walk through its narrow alleys where the air is filled with the smell of frankincense and sandalwood. Next stop is the Al Alam Palace where the Sultan receives his state guests.

At a museum, you will witness traditional artefacts and traces of history and pre-history of Muscat. Finally, see Muscat on a boat cruise while sipping your first ever Omani kahwa - a way to wrap up the day!

DAY 3

Coast, Wadis and Turtles

Today you drive down the coast, stopping at on of the beautiful white beaches. Further down, visit Wadi Shab, one of the most beautiful Wadis in Oman. Arriving to the fishing town of Sur, the home of Omani traditional fisher boats (dhows), you will visit the dhow factory in the open air museum.

At night, an extraordinary experience awaits you at the Turtle Beach where you will get the opportunity to witness sea turtles coming to the shore and laying eggs!

DAY 4

Wadi Bani Khalid & Wahiba Sands

We embark on a stunning drive through the Sharqiya region this morning before reaching Wadi Bani Khalid. Water flows all year round. This most loved wadi of the country features large pools of turquoise and emerald colored water, lined with lush green palm trees inviting you to jump in to refresh. And for the main destination of the day, you traverse through the elevations of the vast Wahiba desert. The stay at the authentic desert camp, with local cuisine and entertainment is an experience everyone will enjoy.

DAY 5

Off to the fantastic mountain world

Get in your 4WD and drive towards the nearby town of Ibra. Ibra Old town, with its retro appearance, is worth visiting. On Wednesdays you can visit the famous women market in the center of the village. Sinaw is a beautiful locality for a short stop. Visit the lively souk or stroll through the village, if time permits. Right behind the main market is a narrow path which leads to another, even more remote area of the old homestead. This walk is peaceful and sets you 200 years back in time.

Just at the foot of the mountain is Birkat Al Mauz, a magical place particularly during sunset.

Stroll through the deserted ruined village, surrounded by date plantations and aflaj, the ancient irrigation system that is UNESCO heritage site. Continue to Nizwa for the night.

DAY 6

Nizwa and its forts

You start the day with visiting the famous cattle market in Nizwa (only on Fridays). Explore the cultural capital of the country where its souq is still the best place to buy silver in the country. This is followed by a visit to the most visited national monument, Nizwa Fort. Then you visit Oman's most beautiful castle from the 17th century, Jabreen, and another UNESCO site, Bahla Fort, the oldest and biggest fort in the country. Both are on your way driving to Al Hamra. Here, the village women demonstrate old practices such as milling, coloring, cooking and more. A truly enriching experience. To the west of Al Hamra lies the road winding up Jebel Shams, the mountain of the sun. It is the highest mountain of the Arabic world and reaches 3075 m above sea level. The drive to the peak is adventurous, you pass the old village Ghul with its green terrace fields. Some kilometers further you reach the abyss of the Omani Grand Canyon. Enjoy the breathtaking views before checking in at your mountain resort.

DAY 7

Wadi Bani Awf to Muscat

After a nice breakfast in the mountains, descent until 1000m height to the village Misfat Al Abriyeen , where you can have a nice walk. Your rugged route to Muscat consists of a stop at the charming village of Bilad Sayt, which is followed by one of the most exhilarating off-road rides through Wadi Bani Awf. A spring starts somewhere in the mountain and is distributed through the Falaj system to the surrounding villages. Visit the hot springs of Nakhl and stroll around its 350 year old fort before heading towards Muscat, where our unforgettable journey ends.
