Bike your way through the valleys of Viñales and Anćon, stopping off at the quaint beach Jutías, as well as lush coffee and tobacco plantations. Along the way you will learn about Cuba’s turbulent history whilst visiting the grotto that was the headquarters for Che Guevara. But this stunning cycling tour does not end there! Explore the quaint, whitewashed village and nature reserve of Las Terrazas, and relish the array of open studios, woodwork and pottery workshops, followed by a meander through Havana's colourful streets and rum museum. Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival to Havana
Welcome to Cuba! You will arrive at the international airport in Havana where we can arrange to have a car waiting for you, or you can choose to arrange for your own transportation to a selected 4* hotel in Havana.

Day 2 – Havana – Viñales
Enjoy a filling breakfast and then get ready for a thrilling bike ride though the picturesque Viñales valley, famous for its stunning and lush tobacco fields and monumental limestone hills known as Mogotes . Here you could visit a tobacco factory and discover Pinar del Rio, the capital city of this province. Afterwards, you will stop for lunch and continue to the verdant Vinales-Valley. You will then get your bikes ready for a cycling tour through this beautiful Valley. Here you will see rolling fields of cultivated tobacco, large Mogote rock formations and many beautiful birds. There are many wonderful things to see in this region, including the Mural de la Prehistoria, a huge 120m-long painting designed in 1961 by Leovigildo González Morillo on the side of Mogote Pita. There will also be an optional visit of the Cueva del Indio; A stalactite cave with an underground river on which the visitors return by boat back to ground level. Over the course of the day you will have cycled approximately 10 km, with a stop for a filling lunch! In the evening return to a casa Particulares.

Day 3 - Viñales - Cayo Jutías  - Viñales
Enjoy a 55km stunning cycle to a quaint and tranquil beach, covered with mangroves. Your ride takes you through the Sierra de Oreganos, a meandering mountain range to the northwest of Havana. Cayo Jutias is a small island attached to mainland Cuba by a man-made causeway - cycling over this causeway is truly spectacular! Largely undiscovered, this beach is home only to the Faro de Cayo Jutías, a metal lighthouse built by the US in 1902, as well as a thatched Oceanside Restaurant and a dive centre. Take a refreshing paddle, Rent kayaks, go snorkelling or enjoy a boat trip. You will have a picnic lunch on the beach and later a bus will take you back to a Casa Particular. 

Day 4 – Viñales - Valle Anćon
Enjoy a scenic ride though the quiet valley Anćon. This valley is not as well-known as Viñales valley, and therefore promises tranquillity and undisturbed views of fully operational and lush coffee plantations. Along the way, you will stop for a fun and educational tour of the woodland cabin where Fidel Castro held secret meetings at the beginning of the revolution. Enjoy lunch in the beautiful, natural, green landscape of the Ancon-Valley You will cycle approximately 30 km. In the evening you will enjoy a stay at the Hotel Aguas Claras. Nestled in a truly spectacular natural space, the Hotel Aguas Claras is the perfect starting point for nature walks. You will have dinner at the hotel.

Day 5 - Valle Anćon – Soroa
Enjoy a filling breakfast, followed by a bike ride through the gorgeous natural area of Soroa. This mountain resort boasts tall trees and lush orchids bursting with Cuban charm. You will head to the remarkable cave formation of Cueva de los Portales. Visit the grotto that was the headquarters for Che Guevara in 1962, during the Cuban Missile Crisis and learn about the complex history of Cuba. After exploring this unique site you will continue cycling the Carretera Central towards tranquil Soroa. The route takes you through charming, rural West Cuban towns. After a day of cycling approximately 45 km, you will devour the included dinner. Enjoy a stay at a 3* hotel in Soroa.

Day 6 – Soroa – Las Terrazas - Soroa
On Day 6 you will enjoy a feast for breakfast, before you head to the Las Terrazas UNESCO Biosphere nature reserve. The community reserve is located in the majestic Sierra del Rosario mountain range and is surrounded by verdant natural surroundings and 25 000 ha rainforest, perfect for relaxing, bird watching and canopy tours. Stroll around the whitewashed village and lake and enjoy the vibrant art community’s open studios, woodwork and pottery workshops. Relish a fully prepared lunch at a local farmhouse and dinner and enjoy a comfortable stay at a 3* hotel in Soroa.

Day 7 – Soroa – Havana
On Day 7 you will return to the capital Havana. Havana's old town was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1982. The atmosphere of bygone days is still present in the streets. You will visit the Havana Club Rum Museum a great place to pick up some souvenirs or drink a cocktail! You will also have time to explore Havana's colourful streets on your own. Look forward to an authentic Cuban lunch and a stay in a 4* hotel in Havana.

Day 8
Enjoy a hearty breakfast and then take a transfer to the airport. We can drive you to the airport if you would like (optional) or you can arrange your own transportation. We would be delighted to help you extend your stay in Cuba and book more nights for you with one of our add-ons if you’re still not quite ready to head home.
