This luxury flying safari offers an awe-inspiring journey into Northern Tanzania, staying in the exclusive lodges of the Conservation Corporation. Your first 2 nights are spent in a secluded tree house suite tucked away in an ancient mahogany forest near Lake Manyara. From there, travel to the Ngorongoro Lodge which is perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater and offers spectacular views of the crater and the African sunset. The final 2 nights are spent at a luxury river camp in the stunning Serengeti. Day 1 - Fly to Nairobi

Fly overnight from Heathrow to Nairobi

Day 2 - Lake Manyara

On arrival connect with your flight to Kilimanjaro and transfer to a local restaurant in Arusha for lunch. Later transfer to Arusha Airport for a flight by light aircraft to Manyara Airstrip and travel to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge with a game drive en route. Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is set in a rich mahogany forest close to the exquisite soda lake. There are ten stilted tree house suites with large windows, contemporary furnishings and distinctly earthy features.(l,d)

Day 3 - Lake Manyara

Spend a full day at Lake Manyara with both morning and afternoon game drives. Lake Manyara National Park is a scenic safari park which is home to elephant, giraffe, buffalo and wildebeest. The most famous residents of Lake Manyara National Park are its legendary tree-climbing lions. (b,l,d)

Day 4 - Ngorongoro

After breakfast, continue to the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge for lunch and an afternoon at leisure. This lodge is one of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in Africa and its setting is unmatched. Perched on the eastern edge of the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, this unique Masai inspired lodge offers spectacular views across the crater and is the perfect base from which to explore the area. Day 5 - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, descend the steep slopes of the world's largest unbroken volcanic caldera. The crater forms a natural enclosure for a unique ecosystem which is home to nearly 25000 animals including large numbers of zebra and wildebeest. If you are lucky you may even spot a large predator lurking in the tall grass. Return to the lodge for lunch and spend an afternoon at leisure. (b,l,d)

Day 6 - Serengeti

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip at Manyara for your light aircraft flight to the Serengeti. You are met on arrival and transferred to either Grumeti River Camp or Klein’s Camp for lunch which is followed by an afternoon game drive. Grumeti River Camp is situated in a remote valley in the western corridor of the Serengeti. This camp overlooks a by-water of the Grumeti River and features ten spacious tents under makuti canopies. This camp is a comfortable haven from which to experience the truly wild pulse of Africa. Klein's Camp is a small, elegant safari lodge set deep in the heart of Masai territory in the northeastern Serengeti. It features ten intimate rock and thatch cottages with rich wooden floors and classic safari interiors. The water for the shower of your en suite bathroom is warmed each evening by a roaring fire under the tank while you enjoy quiet sundowner drinks on your private verandah. (b,l,d)

Day 7 - Serengeti

Take an optional early morning balloon flight* over the Serengeti followed by a bush breakfast (optional extra) or an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the camp. Later enjoy an afternoon game drive in the stunning Serengeti plains. To the Masai people these plains are known as Siringitu which means "the place where the land moves on forever." This 30,000 km² area features 2 World Heritage Sites and 2 Biosphere Reserves. (b,l,d)

Day 8 - Tanzania Holiday Extension or Fly Home

After breakfast fly to Arusha where you are met on arrival and transferred to a local restaurant for lunch. Later transfer to the airport for the flight to Nairobi, then proceed with your chosen Kenya holiday extension or return to Heathrow. (b,l)

Grumeti River Camp, Klein’s Camp and Lake Manyara Tree Lodge are closed from mid-April to mid-May.
