This Cape Town extension starts in Stellenbosch, the centre of South Africa’s wine production. Situated at the Eastern tip of Cape Town Stellenbosch is without doubt one of the prettiest little towns in the whole country. The town is ideally situated in a magnificent mountain valley and is a perfect place to explore the Cape Winelands. Then move on to Hermanus on the Southern Coast of the Western Cape. Hermanus is rich in breathtaking scenery and is the ideal location for an unforgettable Whale watching or shark cage diving experience. Finally end your journey in Cape Town, the “Mother City”, South Africa’s oldest city offering natural beauty and where the fabulous unexpected lies around every corner.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive into Cape Town – Cape Winelands
Once you arrive in Cape Town International Airport you will be free to pick up the rental car and then start the drive to the Cape Winelands for the first chance of wine tasting and exploration. The Cape Winelands boasts some of the most majestic scenery in South Africa and offers a beautiful landscape of wine hills and mountains
2 nights’ accommodation in the Cape Winelands on Bed & Breakfast basis.
Travelling distance: approx. 35 km, driving time approx. 40 min.

Day 2: Exploring the Winelands
Enjoy a day exploring all that the Cape Winelands has to offer from the fine wine tasting to the Delvera "village" that has loads on offer and is a great place to visit for a relaxing wonder around the farm or simply just enjoy the beautiful views and environment and soak up the atmosphere.

Day 3: Winelands via Franschhoek Pass to Hermanus
Depart from the Winelands and embark via Franschhoek and the magnificent Franschhoek Pass towards the quaint seaside village of Hermanus. A tour on the “Wine Tram” in Franschhoek is a great way to explore some outstanding wine estates in the Franschhoek Winelands (not included).
Hermanus is the most exciting Whale watching venue in the world. Each year between June and October, Southern Right whales migrate into the coastal waters to calve and nurse their young. With its breath-taking scenery, it is no wonder that Hermanus is transformed into a bustling hub of activity for any intrepid tourist or appreciator of nature's wonders. Hermanus offers a diversity of adventure activities including River Rafting, Tubing, wine tasting, zip lining, quad biking.

Travelling distance: approx. 140 km, driving time approx. 2 hours

Day 4: Hermanus
Spend the day looking out for whales from the coastline or partake in a Whale watching boat cruise (not included). Out of season clients can expect beautiful beaches including Grotto Beach that has Blue Flag status. Why not also let your adventurous side out by trying a shark cage diving experience (not included). An eye-to-eye encounter with a Great White Shark is surely an unforgettable experience,

Day 5: Hermanus – Explore Cape Town
Travel along the splendid coastal road to Cape Town, the “Mother City” of South Africa. The best way to explore the Cape Town City Centre and its surroundings is on foot and on a guided sightseeing tour. We recommend a Hop-on-Hop-off City Sightseeing tour where you will get to see the real Cape Town in all of its beauty with magnificent views wherever you look. A sunset Champagne cruise in the Table Bay is certainly the best way to see fabulous Table Mountain and city views while the sun dips into the sea at sunset.

Travelling distance: approx. 140 km, driving time approx. 2 ½ hours

Day 6: Explore the Cape Peninsula
Spend the day with a full day exploration of the Cape Peninsula including the visit of Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve a nature lover’s paradise with breath-taking ocean views and animals to be seen including baboons, zebras and ostriches. You can also visit Boulder's Beach with its penguins, Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden and much more (option to book a guided tour on own account).

Day 7: Depart from Cape Town
Spend the last hours of your journey strolling along the famous V&A Waterfront that offers the visitor an abundance of unforgettable experiences. Visit the Two Oceans Aquarium or book a tour to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned and is indeed both a South African National Heritage Site as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
