Amboseli Sopa Lodge
Ambodeli Sopa Lodge is set on 190 acres of wooded Masai land, in the foot hills of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro. This lodge was built using local materials like sisal, driftwood, canvas and Masai blanket fabric to maintain an African ambience. Each spacious room is set in an individual hut with an en suite bathroom and veranda. The lodge features an onsite Masai market, which is owned by the local community, and the proceeds help run their community. There is also a swimming pool and the Kibo Restaurant which both offer spectacular views of Mt Kilimanjaro.
Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge
Situated on the southern shore of Lake Naivasha, this lodge is set on 120 acres of green laws, tropical gardens and acacia trees. The lodge has 84 rooms set in a series of cottages. The spacious rooms feature dark timber furniture, African artworks and balconies furnished with a table and chairs which are an excellent place to spot nesting birds and playful monkeys. Guests can swim in the pool, enjoy a drink at one of the bars and explore the surrounding area. The area around Lake Naivasha hosts a variety of game including giraffes, buffaloes and the elusive black faced colobus monkey.
Mara Sopa Lodge
This lodge was one of the first to be built in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Located in the Oloongams Hills, Mara Sopa Lodge is designed to reflect traditional Masai style with round buildings and thatched roofs. The guest rooms feature wooden panelled ceilings, an ornamental fire place, en suite bathroom and a verandah with two safari chairs. The lodge’s leisure facilities include a swimming pool, boutiques, game drives and walking and balloon safaris. You can even visit the Masai manyattas (villages) to learn about the Masai way of life. The restaurant serves a wide variety of traditional and continental cuisine and you can enjoy a relaxing drink at the lounge and bar.
