Day 1 - Arrival in Cairo

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, a holiday representative will welcome you and assist you through the immigration process before you are transferred to your hotel. Your representative will ensure a smooth hotel check-in.

Day 2 - Pyramids of Giza • Egyptian Museum • The Citadel

After breakfast at the hotel, spend the day exploring the fascinating sights of Cairo. Visit the Pyramids of Giza and get an up close view of the last ancient wonder of the world - the Pyramid of Cheops. See the Sphinx and the Valley Temple then travel to the world-renowned Egyptian Museum which houses the treasures of King Tutankhamun. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant then visit the Citadel. Known as the ‘city of 1000 spires’, the citadel is home to the medieval fortress of Salah-El-Din, the Mosque of Mohammed Ali, and the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar. (b,l)

Day 3 - Bahariya Oasis

Travel south from Cairo in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Bahariya Oasis. Explore the old village of the oasis and see the groves of date palms and fruit trees before taking a tour of the 'English House', the Temple of Alexander the Great and the Golden Valley of Mummies. (b,l,d)

Day 4 - White Desert

Today you will travel through the mountains of the Black Desert and the Valley of El Haize en route to the beautiful White Desert. Stop off to at the Crystal Mountain and see the volcanic rocks and petrified wood of the Valley of Agabat. The White Desert features amazing white rock formations that stand out against a backdrop of golden sands and clear blue skies. After watching a stunning desert sunset, enjoy a traditional Bedouin dinner and then camp under the stars in this serene desert landscape. (b,l,d)

Day 5 - Oasis Farafra

Cross the Karaween Dunes and travel to the lush oasis of Farafra. This oasis of palm groves and hot springs borders the Great Sand Sea. Legend has it that the ill-fated army of Cambyses set out from this area in the 6th century BC never to be heard from again. Tour the old village with its traditional mud-brick houses, and a unique mud brick museum. (b,l,d)

• Overnight Badawiya Hotel.

Day 6 - Cairo

After breakfast, return to the Giza Plateau passing some of Egypt’s most magnificent sand dunes en route. On arrival in Cairo, transfer to your hotel for a well earned-rest and a long shower. (b,l)

Day 7 - Egypt Holiday Extension or Fly Home
