Cancun is to get a new underwater museum, according to Ivan Ferrat Mancera, the President of the Nautical Associates of Cancun. The region is already home to the Museo Subacuatico de Arte (MUSA), which opened in 2010. El Meco Underwater Museum will have three different areas, including a Mayan city with replicas of local ruins, 90 sculptures of angels, and submarine snake.
The number of cruise passengers visiting St Kitts and Nevis has exceeded one million, according to the St Kitts Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism. This is the first time the twin-island nation's port has reached this milestone, and numbers will increase further during the next two months of the region's cruise season. The country reached the one million passenger mark with the arrival of the Royal Caribbean International's Freedom of the Seas ship last month.
The Silversands Grenada hotel looks set to open to guests in November now, according to a recent update from the property. The luxury Caribbean hotel was originally scheduled to launch in spring this year, then it was postponed until this summer. The hotel will be spread across two buildings on the island's famous Grand Anse Beach, and it will have 43 suites and nine residential villas.
