Excellent hotel - not very central, but they offer a free hotel boat to the central pier which gives access to the metro system so easy access to the rest of the city. They also have a boat to a local night market as well.

Delve in and discover Thailand’s rich and vibrant heritage by stepping off the beaten track and travelling to the intriguing province of Sukhothai via the idyllic rural town of Uthai Thani. Translates to the ‘Dawn of happiness’,Sukhothai is considered to be the birthplace of modern Thai culture with its UNESCO World Heritage Sites and unique history. Enjoy an adventure discovering the first capital of Siam where you’ll find ancient temples, ornate architecture and impressive Buddha statues alongside warm local welcomes and a relaxed ambience that runs through the rustic town.
Day 1: Head to Sukhothai via Uthai Thani
Begin your adventure with an early start! At approximately 06:30, you’ll leave the bustling streets of Bangkok behind for a scenic drive to the north of the capital, to the charming town of Uthai Thani where you can truly explore local life in Thailand.
A small and rural town on the edge of the Sakaekrang River, Uthai Thani is off the beaten track for foreign tourists, but offers an insight into day to day life in the countryside with an opportunity to visit the local morning market along the banks of the river. You will also have the chance to explore the impressive Wat Chataram ( Wat Thasung) with its stunning Crystal Hall and Golden Grand Shine before taking an idyllic river cruise on a traditional Rice Barge where you can sit and watch local life unfold.
After lunch on board the boat, it is time to head onwards to the spiritual region of Sukhothai, a truly important province in Thai heritage. Translated to ‘Dawn of Happiness’, Sukhothai is considered the birthplace of Thai culture with a UNESCO World Heritage City steeped in history and a rich culture just waiting to be explored! Enjoy exploring the mystical city for the rest of the afternoon before enjoying dinner and a classical Sukhothai show.

Day 2: Exploring the sights of Sukhothai
After breakfast you have the chance to learn and experience for yourself the traditional agriculture methods of the local farmers including rice planting at ‘The Organic Agriculture Project’ as well as enjoying a delicious organic lunch.
Following on from lunch, it’s time to explore the intriguing Sukhothai Historical Park, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander amongst mystical Buddha statues and stunning temples scattered amongst tranquil waterways and lush gardens that were once the centre of the ancient capital of the Sukhothai kingdom.
