Singapore Holidays

From the glitz and glamour of stylish hotels, exclusive boutiques and some of the world’s finest restaurants to the beauty of its lush rainforest - Singapore holidays pack in much more than meets the eye.

Singapore

Vibrantly cosmopolitan, perfectly manicured, excitingly modern, fashionably chic and ethnically rich, Singapore is one of Southeast Asia's rarest gems and its finest example of how a city should be run. From the impeccable, beautifully landscaped parks to the happening pubs and clubs and the exclusive shops, no other city in the region can boast such a variety of contemporary attractions. But don't be fooled into thinking that modern hubbub is all there is - there are great surprises hiding beneath Singapore's shiny surface, including a unique rainforest reserve, amazing mountain biking and rock climbing opportunities and much, much more.

Introducing Singapore

While to some it may appear bland and soul-less, this sad stereotype couldn't be further from the truth. Beyond the glitzy modern buildings, the thriving industrial economy and the world-class hotels, Singapore still retains its authentic charm and natural beauty. As you will discover, the old myth that the city is completely urbanised is nothing but popular hear ‘say as you don't have to go too far to find remnants of the island's colourful past and its artistic community.

With a mixed ethnicity so rich and varied that few cities in Southeast Asia can rival, Singapore is the only place in the world where you can dive right into the cultures of Malaysia, India and China all in one day while still having time to enjoy a tasty cocktail against a background of ultra-modern Western buildings.

Stroll through Chinatown and browse its antique shops, have a fine meal at one of the many top-rated restaurants, go shopping mad at exclusive malls and boutiques and party the nights away at the eclectic mix of clubs. In Singapore you'll be spoilt for choice with so many things to do. What's even better and most reassuring; the safest of all cities in Southeastern Asia, Singapore is a refreshing playground that stands a world away from crime-and-poverty ridden Jakarta or Manila.

From parks and nature reserves to adrenaline-fuelled activities

With over 50 fragrant parks and spectacular nature reserves, Singapore is famous the world over for its lovingly manicured green spaces and lush grounds. Whether you choose to spend lazy afternoons leisurely walking around heritage parks in the heart of the city or you prefer to pursuit more exciting activities amidst Singapore's wildest nature, you'll be in a great spot to do it all.

Home to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, a magnificent patch of primary rainforest the likes of which is only found in one other city in the world, Singapore will surprise you with its lush landscapes. If you so wish you can completely retreat yourself from civilisation at large patches of forests where the only sounds you'll hear is the howling of the monkeys and the rustle of branches as the little creatures swing from tree to tree.

For more thrilling activities you can try diving with sharks at Underwater World on Sentosa, go waterskiing or wakeboarding on the Kallang River, go mountain riding around Bukit Timah or pay a visit to the animal world at Singapore Zoo. From go-karting to rock-climbing, Singapore has it all.

Gourmet dining and extravagant shopping

Widely considered as one of the world's eating capitals, Singapore's peculiar obsession for food is like a national sport and goes beyond what you might experience anywhere else on the planet.

From having the iconic Singaporean experience, sitting under the stars with a Tiger beer on hand while sampling a huge array of Asian dishes in the middle of a bustling hawker centre, to tasting epicurean delights at a fine eatery in the city centre; Singapore is big on dining options. Try local specialties such as oyster omelette, sambal stingray, beef rendang, char kway teow and chicken rice... the list is virtually endless.

And if all the culinary indulgement hasn't blown a hole in your pocket by the end of your stay, the array of shopping opportunities sure will. Singapore is every shopper's paradise with exclusive boutiques that take extravagant shopping to the limits. Bargains are to be found outside the glamorous shops of Orchard Rd, with good-priced items ranging from clothes to electronics as well as a collection of art and antique shops that are hard to find anywhere else.

So there you have it, while some may feel tempted to call it soul-less, Singapore is anything but. Brimming with exciting opportunities and delights in every corner, a holiday here will surely leave a long-lasting glow on your memories.
