A brand new attraction for adrenaline lovers has just begun welcoming visitors in Oman's Jabal Al Akhdar Resort. The lavish hotel now offers the possibility of signing up for a unique mountain hike that includes 200 metres of "via ferrata", views of an amazing canyon below and two zip-lines for the ultimate rush. The extreme excursion is suitable for beginners and advanced climbers alike.

Oman Air begins operations of flights from new Muscat International Airport

Oman Air has commenced its first flights from the new Muscat International Airport. Oman’s national airline will be operating up to 200 flights a day from the new state-of-the-art terminal. The airport will now have the capacity to handle 12 million passengers per year, and it has a runway that can accommodate the Airbus A380, the world’s largest aircraft.

Muscat International Airport in Oman to Open new Terminal in March

Muscat International Airport in Oman is preparing to open its new passenger terminal this month. The terminal will commence operations on 20th March, and it will have the space to accommodate large aircraft including the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 747. The huge building will have retail outlets, first class and business class lounges, and offices for airlines, car rental agencies, as well as a four-star hotel with 90 rooms and swimming pools.

Oman to focus on sustainable tourism

Oman's tourism industry continues to grow, and the country is focused on developing that industry in a sustainable fashion. The country's Ministry of Tourism has signed the United Nations Agenda 2030 for sustainable tourism development. It has also signed an agreement with numerous businesses to encourage sustainable tourism.

Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman purchases fleet of eco-vehicles to transport guests

Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman has acquired its own fleet of Nissan Pathfinder SV 4WD Hybrid vehicles, which will be used to transport guests to the resort. The eco-vehicles will be used to take guests for excursions to Dibba town, the resort's own farm, off road trips to the Sabatyn plateau, and to the hotel's dining venue, Sense on the Edge which sits on the mountaintop.

Muscat to welcome new luxurious AVANI hotel in 2020

Oman's elegant and blossoming capital will soon boast one of the most lavish hotel properties in the country. Hawana Aqua Park to open in Dhofar, Oman by the end of the year

A brand new water park is scheduled t' open in Dhofar in Oman by the end of the year, according to the country’s Minister of Tourism. The Hawana Aqua Park is being constructed on a site spanning 65,000 metres. The family-friendly attraction will have water slides, leisure pools, wave pools, and a toddler’s pool, as well as dining venues and a retail shopping area.

New Novotel Muscat Azaiba in Oman

AccorHotels has signed a management agreement with Al Anwar Holdings SAOG this week for a brand new hotel in Muscat in Oman. An agreement was signed for the Novotel Muscat Azaiba between by the Chairman of Al Anwar Holdings SAOG and chief executive officer of AccorHotels. The hotel will have 200 guest rooms, and will be located close to the international airport and the upcoming Mall of Oman.

Movenpick Hotel Muscat Airport third hotel from Movenpick in Oman

Movenpick Hotels & Resorts recently signed a deal that will bring its third property to Oman. The property, Movenpick Hotel Muscat Airport, will be part of a large development that includes both retail and commercial uses. The property, which will be located near Muscat International Airport, is expected to open in 2021.

Alila Jabal Akhdar in Oman receives Fifth Star classification from Ministry of Tourism

The Alila Jabal Akhdar hotel in Oman has been awarded its fifth star by the Ministry of Tourism. It's one of the first boutique hotels in Oman to be recognised by the Ministry in its new boutique hotel certification, and it is the only eco-luxury hotel to be located on the Al Hajar mountain range. The property has 86 guest rooms, including six loft suites, and two Jabal villas.
