Jordan's location in the Middle East means it experiences soaring temperatures during the summertime, while spring and autumn are pleasantly warm. Due to the slightly elevated position of some of its cities and attractions, winters can be cold in Jordan, with snow not unknown to fall on the ancient city of Petra.

The best time to visit Jordan is between April and October, depending on what you plan to do on your holiday. For desert and cultural exploration, the heat of July and August can make the going tough, while some visitors may find the soaring temperatures perfect for a beach holiday in Aqaba or the Dead Sea region. For a more active visit, it is recommended to take your trip during April-May or September-October when the heat of the midday sun is less powerful.
