The Jordanian resort town of Aqaba beside the Red Sea is now more accessible to travellers than ever as airline Royal Jordanian have added prompt same-day connecting flights from the country’s capital Amman down to Aqaba that includes free carriage of scuba diving gear.

Jordan Tourism Board records increase in overnight Indian travellers

The Jordan Tourism Board has revealed that the number of daily Indian travellers visiting Jordan declined in 2016. Figures show that daily numbers from India were down by 4.5 per cent, which indicated that travellers were staying overnight rather than just visiting the sites and attractions for the day. Overnight visitors increased by 18.4 per cent.

Hiking through history in Jordan

The Jordan Trail winds through some of the most historically significant land in the Middle East, as well as some of the most beautiful. The 650-kilometre trail opened earlier this year, and tourism officials hope that the trail will be an economic boon to the 52 villages situated along the trail.

Jordan desert dome camps approach travellers to “The Martian” experience

Comprising sandstone and granite rock formations, the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan is the closest place to Mars (at least in appearance) on Earth. Rotana Amman opens in Abdali downtown area of Jordan

Rotana Amman has opened its doors in Jordan, bringing 803 guest rooms, suites and hotel apartments spread over 50 floors to the Kingdom. The luxury hotel was officially opened by Prime Minister Hani Al-Mulki, and the building measure 188 metres high, making it the tallest building in Jordan. Facilities include six restaurants, the Bodylines Fitness & Wellness Club, and an outdoor swimming pool.

New animal safety regulations enforced at ancient Petra site in Jordan

New regulations have been enforced with the help of the Four Paws charity at the tourist site in Petra in Jordan to protect the horses and donkeys that are used to transport holidaymakers. The site is home to more than 1,300 horses and donkeys, and new stables and shaded rest areas have been created at the entrance of the site along with a renovated clinic to treat injured animals.

Jordan Tourist Board invites The Holiday Place to private screening of The Martian

One of Hollywood's latest blockbusters to make it to the big screen, The Martian, starring Matt Damon and directed by Ridley Scott, features some spectacular footage of Jordan's vast and wild Wadi Rum desert, which in the film doubles as a Mars landscape.
