Fujairah: the perfect all-inclusive destination

Why go all inclusive in Fujairah?

With a hot climate and a tranquil coastline indented with the best beaches in the UAE and facing the crystalline Gulf of Oman, Fujairah has excellent sun, sand and sea credentials. Though there is little tourism development, travellers looking for all-inclusive luxury and ultimate relaxation right beside the sea can choose from a host of high-end resorts that have sprung up.

Along the sublime beaches of Dibba and Al Aqah, facilities and services are almost all hotel-based, so booking all-inclusive makes even more sense. From varied dining and drinks to superior spas and sports facilities, Fujairah's resorts excel at the classic all-inclusive package for a carefree and enjoyable holiday on the beach.

Sun, sand and spa

Holidays in Fujairah are all about rest and relaxation, recharging your batteries in the sunshine and luxuriating in the paradisiacal surrounds, and the emirate's beach hotels have taken this to heart. Each hotel has tasteful loungers and cabanas spaced out along the palm-studded beach that are free for guests to use and many resorts serve drinks and snacks straight to your sunlounger so there's no need to even leave the beach.

The impressive range of dining options at hotels such as the Iberotel Miramar Al Aqah Beach, which has four restaurants, also means that guests can enjoy varied and quality meals all included in the price, removing the need to hunt for decent restaurants further afield. Room service and in-room dining are also a key feature in many of the five-star resorts and the standard of service in Fujairah is generally second-to-none.

To supplement the relaxing environment, several of Fujairah's luxury all-inclusive hotels incorporate sumptuous spas, and some offer special pampering packages. The Miramar has the fabulous Adam and Eve Spa that offers an amazing range of treatments from aromatherapy massages to rejuvenating facials. Another luxury hotel with its own on-site wellness centre, the Fujairah Rotana Resort features the Zen Spa with fabulous facilities including eight treatment rooms, an ice cave, a hammam and a serenity suite. You can also opt for Thai massages in a beach cabana with the soothing sound of the waves as your relaxation soundtrack.

Watersports and excursions

Most of Fujairah's all-inclusive beach resorts offer non-motorized watersports and equipment to their guests. This includes snorkelling gear, boogie boards, floatation devices and paddle boats. But in an area known for its first-class diving, some hotels have their own exclusive dive centres offering lessons, equipment and guided scuba diving.

The all-inclusive Miramar Resort is the ideal destination for anyone interested in aquatic sports and other adventurous activities. The five-star village-style resort features a dedicated Adventure Sports centre that offers everything from thrilling banana boat and inflatable rides to adrenalin-inducing activities such as jetskiing, waterskiing, parasailing and wake boarding. Guests can hire masks, snorkels and fins free of charge or join a snorkelling excursion to see glimpse the Gulf of Oman's rich underwater life. Angling enthusiasts can also reel in a prize catch on fishing excursions that include all equipment. For total immersion, Adventure Sports has a dedicated diving team that can teach you to scuba and take you on guided trips to the best dive sites on the Arabian Peninsula's east coast.

The Radisson Blu resort, set on a private stretch of sand near Dibba, also has its own well-equipped dive centre, and organises deep sea fishing trips for budding anglers. In fact, it's not uncommon for Fujairah's resorts to offer some excursions to guests - the Hilton resort on the edge of Fujairah City organises sundowner cruises, as well as the usual range of aqua-sports available from its private beach. Similarly, Le Meridien resort's all inclusive and extra all inclusive gold packages offer trip-enhancing extras such as a free shuttle bus to Fujairah City and Dubai City - particularly handy for guests who want to explore without hiring a car. Travellers staying at the Fujairah Rotana who are interested in discovering the remarkable natural marvels in this part of the UAE can take advantage of desert safaris into the emirate's deep desert wadis and coastal cruises aboard traditional dhows.
