Fishing Trip Abu Dhabi

Duration: 4 Hours

fishing trip Abu Dhabi

If you are taking a holiday in Abu Dhabi between October and May, this is the ideal time for fishing enthusiasts to book a game fishing tour. Your professional crew will introduce you to the best fishing spots in the area, where Sailfish and other game fish are abundant during the fishing season. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the tranquil Arabian waters, where many a seafarer has gone before you.

Fishing was once the main source of income for Abu Dhabi, the largest of the seven Emirates and the capital of the UAE, but it has taken a back seat since the city gained considerable wealth during the oil boom in the 1950s. Even so, this relaxing sport is still part of daily life for many local residents, and fishing tours are very popular with visitors. From May to October the warm waters of the Arabian Gulf attract masses of baitfish, providing an ideal hunting ground for Sailfish, Queenfish, Shari, Kingfish, Jack, Dorado, Bonito, Mackerel, Hamour (Rock Cod) and many other game fish species.

Your adventure will begin by travelling across the sparkling clear blue waters of the Persian Gulf on a modern, licensed charter boat, which will supply all the equipment you need. Your experienced crew will be happy to answer your questions on the way and give you all the guidance you need, whether you are experienced angler or a complete novice.

Once you reach the best fishing areas around the islands off the coast of Abu Dhabi, you can cast your line into the water, wait for a bite and get ready to reel in your catch on the other end. Patience is required, and a catch isn’t guaranteed, but there is certainly a good chance of bringing something tasty back to shore. Just remember to check the guidelines for catch-and-release before you book a tour as fish stocks are monitored.

At the end of the tour you will get the chance to be photographed with your prize catch on board, with beautiful scenery as the backdrop. Don’t worry if you come back empty-handed, though, because the boat cruise itself is an exhilarating adventure at sea. Enjoy wonderful views of Abu Dhabi’s coastline from a different perspective, observing spectacular modern skyscrapers and mirrored towers that dominate the city skyline. You will also sail past Jebel Ali, the world’s largest man-made port, and many historical landmarks. Not to be missed, this memorable fishing tour will undoubtedly get you hooked.
