A cruise along Abu Dhabi’s coastline at night is an exciting way to see the twinkling city lights of its past and present landmarks, especially if you get the chance to sail on a traditional Arab dhow. Originating from the Middle East, this unique wooden sailing boat has been used for centuries by merchants and traders sailing the waters of the Arabian Gulf to India, China and East Africa. Today the dhow is a popular tourist attraction and a relaxing way to enjoy the majestic coastal scenery.

The city of Abu Dhabi sits at the tip of a T-shaped island in the Persian Gulf, and is connected to the mainland by two bridges. After passing Jebel Ali, the world’s largest man-made port, we will sail around the artificial Lulu Island before cruising silently past modern skyscrapers and mirrored towers which dominate the city skyline and justify Abu Dhabi’s title “Manhattan of the Middle East”. Marvel at the reflections in the water of brightly-lit domes, towers, minarets and fountains lining the famous Corniche as we sail leisurely alongside the popular seafront promenade under the stars. This is one of the most picturesque sites in Abu Dhabi.

Dinner is also included on the tour. Savour the taste of traditional Arabic cuisine on your moonlit journey, followed by the fragrant Arabic coffee “ghawa”. Full of romance and mystery, this memorable cruise is a wonderful way to experience the exotic beauty of Abu Dhabi at night.

Abu Dhabi International Airport records rise in passengers in January

Abu Dhabi International Airport recorded an increase in passengers in January, 2017 with more than 2.2 million international visitors passing through the facility in the United Arab Emirates. Marriott Hotel Al Forsan to open to guests in Abu Dhabi in February

Marriott International will launch its second Marriott-branded hotel in Abu Dhabi next week. The Marriott Hotel Al Forsan will open its doors this February, 2017, and will cater for families and corporate groups. The new hotel has 400 guest rooms and suites, plus facilities including several restaurants with outside terraces, a 50-metre swimming pool with Splash bar, a kids area, a fitness centre, and a spa.

Abu Dhabi continues to see increase in guest arrivals

Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture announced that the country saw an eight per cent increase in tourists in 2016. Nearly 4.5 million tourists checked into Abu Dhabi hotels last year, a significant increase over the prior year. Among international visitors to Abu Dhabi, the UK contributed the third largest number of guests.
