Jannah Hotels and Resorts has is celebrating the success of one of its properties in the Middle East. The luxurious Jannah Burj Al Sarab hotel in Abu Dhabi has been recognised by the International Hotel Awards - Africa and Arabia, scooping three prestigious awards. The hotel has rooftop swimming pool and fitness centre, as well as an all-day dining venue, shisha lounge and free parking.

Abu Dhabi now the fastest-growing Middle East destination

The Mastercard Global Destination Cities Index for 2016 was recently released. The Index revealed that Abu Dhabi is the fastest-growing city in the Middle East and Africa, with a projected increase of 4.5 percent in visitor figures. The city came out ahead of other leading Middle Eastern cities Riyadh, Tehran, and Dubai.

Louvre Abu Dhabi to officially open to the public in November

The Louvre Abu Dhabi is scheduled to finally open its doors to the public this November, after several years of delays. The museum city has been designed by Pritzker Prize winning French architect Jean Nouvel and is located beneath a huge dome structure. The museum will be the first in the Arab region to focus on its civilisations and culture through shared human stories, and it will have a programme of events and performances.

Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi launches Neon Nights this summer

Yas Waterworld in Abu Dhabi has added a number of unique illuminating experiences to its summer offerings. During Yas Waterworld Neon Nights on Fridays, holidaymakers can enjoy extended opening hours, music and light performances, live DJ sets at Amwaj Wave Pool, and glow in the dark drinks and food. The water park is one of the emirate’s most popular attractions and caters for visitors of all ages.

Abu Dhabi expects 300,000 cruise passengers over the 2017/2018 season

Abu Dhabi is expecting to receive more than 300,000 passengers on cruise ships during the upcoming 2017/ 2018 cruise season. The emirate is expecting 148 port calls from 18 ships across 15 cruise lines throughout this period. The numbers are an eight per cent increase in ship calls compared to the record-breaking 2016/2017 season. Abu Dhabi is looking to attract 450,000 cruise passengers by 2020.

Abu Dhabi welcomes almost two million hotel visitors in first five months of 2017

Abu Dhabi recorded nearly two million hotel guests between January and may this year, according to new figures released by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority. The capital emirate welcomed more than 600,000 domestic visitors to its hotels and apartments, and the largest international source market was China with 160,902 hotel visitors so far this year.

Abu Dhabi launches Summer Season with family activities

This summer, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority will host the Abu Dhabi Summer Season with a wide range of family activities and entertainment. Taking place until 20th August, 2017, the emirate will offer a wide range of promotions, discounts, performances, events and competitions from hotels and shopping centres, and special appearances from famous characters.

Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island resort to open in new Yas Bay development in 2019

Hilton Worldwide has announced that the new Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort will be part of a new development on the southern end of Yas Island. The project, which is being developed by Miral, is set in the three-kilometre stretch Yas Bay which looks set to become one of the emirate’s most vibrant new waterfront destinations, and the hotel is scheduled to open in 2019.

Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island receives Conde Nast Award

Conde Nast Traveller magazine has recognised the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island as one of the best hotels in the Africa and the Middle East. The luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi was named in the Condé Nast Traveller Hot List 2017, which highlights the favourite properties around the world that have opened to guests over the past 12 months.

Abu Dhabi sees 1.6 million visitors

Abu Dhabi welcomed almost 1.6 million visitors in the first quarter of 2017, a 7 per cent increase over the same period in 2016. Additionally, April of this year also saw an increase of 15 per cent in hotel guest arrivals. The city is hosting numerous festivals and cultural programmes throughout the year, and hotels and attractions will offer promotions in a bid to encourage tourism for the remainder of the year.
