Despite being the largest of the 7 Emirates that make up the UAE, Abu Dhabi is often overshadowed by the glitz and glam of Dubai. A 1.5 hour-drive away from Dubai, the capital of UAE packs in loads of sightseeing, family fun and a dose of Middle Eastern culture. Holidays to Abu Dhabi offer amazing weather, modern hotels and all the best city and beach activities in one. The city is best visited during winter (November to March) when it isn’t too hot or humid. The shoulder seasons of spring (April and May) and autumn (September and October) come with pleasant temperatures and a less touristy crowd. Lounge on the Blue Flag Corniche beach, explore the Ferrari World that houses the world’s fastest rollercoaster, or admire the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque – the fun never ends in Abu Dhabi holidays.

With incredible mosques, man-made islands, gleaming skyscrapers and perfect beaches to potter along, Abu Dhabi has the perfect mix of history, architecture and attractions to make this a great destination worth visiting all year round. Enjoy classy restaurants, all-inclusive hotels, golf resorts, waterparks and the world-famous Formula One Grand Prix which attracts top celebrities every year. Those travelling with kids in tow can go for a fun day out to the Emirates Park Zoo, just 35km away from the city on the way to Dubai. It houses more than 1,700 animals, including Siberian bears and white tigers. Abu Dhabi is certainly a sun-soaked city that doesn’t do things by half!

    Explore the Corniche waterfront

Abu Dhabi has the beautiful Corniche beach, recognized Blue Flag and is good for a swim with lifeguards and floating fences. It has separate areas or singles, families and the general public. The surrounding marina is an 8-km waterfront teeming with cafés and restaurants and pathways for cyclists and pedestrians. Stroll along the marina to enjoy beautiful vistas of the coast on one side, and the buzzing metropolis on the other.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is sure to give you an adrenaline rush with its fastest in the world roller coaster Formula Rossa and some spectacular, hair-raising rides. There are also live shows, go-karting and shops selling racing memorabilia. The children will love the attractions and when you feel like bite, the menu is distinctly Italian.
