Getting Around

Both the old and new areas of Paphos are small enough to navigate on foot, and their narrow cobbled streets are easily walkable. Buses and taxis are both popular ways to get around town, including open top hop-on buses which are an easy way to see the sights. You can hire bikes, mopeds and cars if you wish to explore further afield; bicycles are available if you want to head into the Troodos mountains.

Sensational Snorkelling

Cyprus has hundreds of amazing bays to explore. Grab your flippers and a snorkel and discover the underwater world solo or take a snorkelling boat excursion along the coastline. There are even a few companies on the island who offer underwater helmets so you can go for a stroll along the floor of the Med, feeding fish and spotting coral as you go. A good compromise for those who aren't ready for the full scuba diving experience.

Be a Beach Babe

Cyprus is a beach babe's paradise! Alykes Beach, also known as Sopab Beach, is a popular spot for families and is fringed by the Deck Cafe & Bar and the Alexander the Great hotel. Other fantastic beaches include the Petra Tou Romiou, famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, the laid-back Pissouri Bay or the Blue Flag-awarded Coral Bay.

Sea, Sun, Fun

Paphos is a great family holiday destination as there is so much to do for all ages. Why not head along the coast on mountain bikes, take an exhilarating jeep safari, try your hand at kayaking or snorkel at the Coral Bay beach. Kids big and small will love a day of fun at the Fasouri waterpark, where they can enjoy thrilling rides while you indulge in a fish pedicure! There’s also a go-karting centre, where the entire family can pick their challenges on a 1,600 metre track, complete with a bridge and tunnel.

Aphrodite's Rock

Petra tou Romiou is one of the famous beaches of Cyprus. Petra tou Romiou, also known as Aphrodite's Rock, is supposed to be the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of love, and it is believed that she emerged from the sea at this bay. Tourists flock to this little corner of Paphos, but the waters are still beautiful.
