Tale of 3 Islands

Duration: Full Day

tale of 3 islands

This exciting three-island adventure will introduce you to some of the Seychelles' most famous highlights, where you will discover rare and exotic flora and fauna, ancient ruins and forests, paradise beaches and crystal clear waters teeming with marine life.

Your first adventure of the day will be a guided tour of the granitic Cousin Island, a beautiful nature reserve for a wide variety of endemic birds, flora and fauna. Look out for the Seychelles Warbler, the Seychelles Magpie Robin and the Seychelles Fody, as well as giant land tortoises and many other tropical creatures. This island has also been successful with conservation efforts, having rescued important native wildlife species from extinction.

After enjoying the rich diversity of this inspiring sanctuary, we will continue onwards to Curieuse Island, the centrepiece of Curieuse Marine National Park, located less than 1km off the north coast of Praslin. This is the only place aside from the Vallee de Mai on Praslin Island where the legendary Coco de Mer palm grows naturally. This rare, indigenous species grows up to 35 metres in height and produces the largest nut in the world. You can then relax and enjoy swimming in alluring turquoise waters or soaking up the sun on powdery white sands before being served a sumptuous barbeque lunch on the beach.

Afterwards, you will be taken on a one-hour guided tour through this fascinating nature reserve, set amidst lush vegetation, coconut palms and takamaka trees. Curieuse was once a leper colony and you can still see the ancient ruins of the houses and the restored doctor's house, which is now an interesting museum and a preserved national monument. Stroll along the island’s picturesque nature trails, which meander through a dense mangrove forest swarming with wildlife. Continue onwards towards the beautiful Baie Laraie lagoon, where the shallow waters host small sharks, turtles, large humphead parrot fish and many other marine species. You will also find pristine white-sand beaches and a sanctuary for giant land tortoises originating from Aldabra, which are reared and bred as part of an exciting conservation project.

Leaving Curieuse behind, we will then make our way to St Pierre, the third and final destination on our trio of paradise islands tour. Prepare for an unforgettable snorkelling adventure as you submerge yourself into the crystalline blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Discover an abundance of native marine life in this awe-inspiring underwater world, including schools of tropical fish and stunning, colourful coral formations. This is an exhilarating experience not to be missed.

Each island is a unique place of natural beauty, and picking a favourite will be a difficult task. If you are looking to explore as many islands as possible during your holiday in the Seychelles, this tour will give you an excellent head start.
