Starfish, Underwater Treasures

Duration: Full Day

starfish, underwater treasures

Located in the heart of the Indian Ocean, The Seychelles is a paradise holiday destination, boasting pristine white sandy beaches and a wealth of underwater treasures to discover in alluring turquoise waters. This unforgettable tour will introduce you to a wide variety of tropical marine species in Ste Anne Marine Park, which is located about 5km from Mahé, the largest island in the Seychelles archipelago. Made up of six islands, Ste Anne Marine Park was created for the preservation of local wildlife, and was one of the first of its kind in the Indian Ocean. This unique place of natural beauty will provide plenty of wonderful memories during your holiday in the Seychelles.

Your day begins at the port in Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles, where you will board a glass-bottom boat for your journey to Ste Anne Marine Park. Enjoy the spectacular scenery as we sail out of the picturesque harbour, set against the backdrop of impressive mountain landscapes.

Once we arrive at the marine reserve, you will be taken on an exciting reef safari, where you can explore the mysterious natural realm under the sea. Look out for several species of sea turtles on your journey, including green turtles and hawksbill, as well as octopus, starfish, crabs, sea urchins, spiny lobsters, stingrays and a stunning variety of colourful reef fish. This awe-inspiring world can all be viewed from the comfort of the boat’s glass-bottom window.

You will then get the chance to experience this majestic underwater world firsthand as you prepare for an unforgettable snorkelling session. Before you do, enjoy the thrill of feeding hungry schools of fish during feeding time. Your guide will supply you with plenty of bread, enabling you to attract the attention of a myriad of colourful, tropical fish, which will eagerly feed straight from your hand. This is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the trip. You can then enjoy an undersea voyage of discovery as you snorkel through a spectacular coral reef, the habitat for an incredible plethora of beautiful and fascinating marine creatures.

Back on dry land, you will be offered a choice of nearby islands, located within Ste Anne Marine Park, on which to spend your time relaxing. Each island has its own distinct charm, so whether you visit the beautiful, unspoilt Cerf Island or the deserted, tropical Moyenne Island, which is a sanctuary for endangered Aldabra tortoises, you can relax and explore at leisure − or even embark on another snorkeling adventure.

For lunch, a delicious Creole buffet will be served under shady, tropical palms. Savour the unique flavours and textures of this mouth-watering, authentic meal, which represents the finest in Creole cuisine. The remainder of your afternoon can be spent exploring your surroundings, swimming in turquoise waters or soaking up the sun on powdery soft white sands. This is the perfect end to a day in paradise.
