Mahé is the biggest and most populated island in the Seychelles archipelago, which is made of up 115 stunning granitic and coral islands scattered in the Indian Ocean. Mahé is one of these unique, granitic islands, which can be found nowhere else in the world. A popular destination for holidays in the Seychelles, the island offers a wealth of diversity, adventure and discovery – from tropical gardens, nature walks and wildlife to breathtaking landscapes, beautiful sandy beaches and snorkelling amongst coral reefs.

Your tour of Mahé Island, by private car or coach, starts in Victoria, the capital city of the Seychelles. Here you will get the opportunity to explore the famous Botanical Garden, which is over 100 years old and covers six acres of land. The Seychelles islands are covered in lush green vegetation and colourful, tropical flora and these beautiful gardens will give you an insight into some of the exotic native species, whilst learning about plant conservation. Some of these plants include flourishing fruit trees and around 50 different palm species, including all six species of palms found only in the Seychelles. One the most amazing palms is the Coco de Mer, which produces the largest seeds in the world. You will also discover orchid gardens, giant tortoises, spectacular granite boulders, a large number of birds, insects, mammals, reptiles, butterflies and fish, and many other natural delights.

Leaving the capital behind, we drive onwards through the mountains, taking in breathtaking vistas of Mahé’s unique, rugged landscapes and unspoilt west coast, with its bright, turquoise ocean, on the way. We will stop for a break at Mission Lodge, where the ancient ruins of a boarding school for slave children still remain. Listen to the sounds and songs of the native birds as you feast your eyes on yet more panoramic scenery, comprising lush, rolling hills and mountains, stunning coastline and endless, azure waters. It would be difficult to find anywhere else in the world more beautiful.

Our descent through the countryside and long Mahé’s west coast will bring us to Port Launay, one of the Seychelles' most beautiful protected marine parks, before finally leading us to the pretty parish- church of St. Francis at Baie Lazare, where we will stop for photos.

The grand finale of this wonderful scenic tour is the exquisite nature resort of Cap Lazare. Set amongst lush green hills in 75 acres, the resort overlooks a beautiful, secluded beach and turquoise lagoon, surrounded by trees and beautiful tropical flora.  Relax amidst coconut palms, banana trees and scented frangipani trees as you are welcomed with fresh, tropical fruit juices, followed by a mouth-watering grilled seafood barbeque on the private beach. While away the afternoon exploring this beautiful estate, home to one of the largest land tortoises' colonies in the Seychelles, or swim and snorkel in Cap Lazare's majestic underwater world, which hosts an abundance of colourful marine life. This unforgettable tour will open your eyes to some of the Seychelles’ most beautiful natural treasures.

An archipelago of 115 islands, the Seychelles offers stunning natural beauty in the heart of the Indian Ocean. Mahe is the country’s largest and most populated island and offers visitors the most options. La Digue is the most serene and untouched, and Praslin, the second-largest island in the chain, is a bit of both: one side of the island offers seclusion while the other side offers a bit more civilization.
