Discovering the beauty both above and below the Indian Ocean is a must during your holiday in Mauritius and there are many ways to do so. This excursion will enable you to experience the thrills of kite surfing along the beautiful western coastal area of Le Morne. Whether you are taking your very first lesson or improving your skills, this is an adventure not to be missed.

Located at the south-western tip of Mauritius, Le Morne is an isolated peninsula which is renowned for its stunning natural beauty. Blessed with pristine white sands, lush tropical flora and a stunning crystal clear turquoise lagoon, it would be difficult to get much closer to paradise. The coastline is dominated by Le Morne mountain, a natural monument and World Heritage Site that symbolises freedom from slavery. The area is has been developed over the years into an upmarket tourist resort and is a popular place for water sports as it is the windiest place on the island. Parasailing, surfing, scuba diving and kite surfing are just some of the activities available here.

This tour will enable you to enjoy a beginner’s kite surfing lesson with YOANEYE kite centre, where you will learn the basic skills in the shallow ‘kite lagoon’, which is perfect for starters. Because the water is so warm, you won’t have to wear a wetsuit. Tuition is available from beginner to expert levels for both collective and private lessons, and coaching courses in freestyle and wave riding lessons are also available. The passionate instructors are on hand to share their experiences and visions of kite surfing pedagogy so you will be in the best of hands on the day.

After the initial training, you will hopefully have learnt the basic techniques that will enable you to keep your balance on the board. Once you have mastered this, enjoy the adrenaline rush as you ride the waves, using your kite and the power of the wind to propel you across the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean. More experienced kite surfers can try jumps and freestyle moves further along the peninsula.

Le Morne is the ultimate destination for learning how to kite surf whilst having fun at the same time, and it can be practiced all year round. This is a fantastic sport for both adults and children to enjoy.

Tourist Arrivals in Mauritius increase in first quarter of 2016

The idyllic island nation of Mauritius has recorded an increase of British holidaymakers in the first quarter of 2016. The country received a total of 327,836 international tourists, and an 8.5 per cent increase in British travellers. More than 1.2 million tourists are expected to visit in Mauritius in 2016 to soak up the sunshine and relax on its powder-soft beaches.
