A Day at Ile Aux Cerfs

Duration: Half Day

a day at ile aux cerfs

Located in the southwest Indian Ocean off the coast of the African continent, the stunning island nation of Mauritius is blessed with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. This tour will take you to the paradise islet of Ile aux Cerfs, where you can soak up the sun on golden beaches and swim in crystalline lagoons. This wonderful day of pure relaxation is what a holiday in Mauritius is all about.

Your day will begin on Mauritius’ spectacular East Coast, where you will jump on a small boat and sail out onto the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean towards Ile aux Cerfs (French for Deer Island) – the epitome of paradise on Earth. There are no deer left on the island today, but its rare natural beauty is the biggest attraction for tourists.

As soon as you arrive at this small tropical gem, which floats in the beautiful emerald lagoon of "Trou d'eau Douce", you will be greeted with miles of dazzling white sand, fringed with swaying palm trees. This picture-perfect island is a destination that most people only dream of visiting. From the beach, visitors can also breathtaking views of the mainland with its mountainous backdrop.

Aside from relaxing on pristine white sands and swimming in the warm azure waters, you will get the chance to explore the island and also partake in various water sports such as snorkeling, parasailing, wind surfing, water skiing and kayaking. It takes approximately three hours to walk around the island, but this is an ideal opportunity to discover its many secluded coves. If you fancy a spot of shopping whilst you are there, you can pick up some great gifts, souvenirs and beach towels on the island, as well a variety of local crafts.

All that adventure is bound to work up an appetite, so indulge in a refreshing cocktail or two after your swim and enjoy the taste of freshly cooked local cuisine in one of the island’s thatched-roof restaurants. It would be difficult to find a more idyllic setting for dining. A pearl in the Mauritian landscape, Ile aux Cerfs is a dream destination just waiting to be explored.
