Duration: Half Day

floreal, phoenix glass gallery, quatres-bornes market and casela nature and leisure park

For all those true shopaholics during their Mauritius holidays or those that want to find the best of the island’s arts and crafts we have created this fabulous tour to take you around some of Mauritius’ best shopping spots. But it doesn’t end here…after all your shopping is done we take you to a completely different place to appreciate the best of Mauritian fauna at the Casela Nature & Leisure Park.

We begin by visiting the quaint town of Floréal, one of the main residential towns in the island popular for its great shopping arcades where one can find a wide variety of local and international high quality brand products at duty-free prices. This place also has the only textile museum in the island; the Shibani Knitting Museum where you will find beautiful sweaters and many other fine items of clothing. Enjoy your time at leisure here and find the best bargains to take home with you; shop around for yourself, for friends and family and choose from a wide variety of items that will make lovely Mauritian souvenirs for all!

We continue our journey at the Phoneix Glass Gallery where you will find an amazing display in the art of glass blowing. Watch expert glass blowers at work and admire their mastery at creating these fine glass pieces. Here you will find that the glass is 100% recycled as well as the one used at the stained glass window displays. And after admiring this glass blowing show you can engage in some delightful shopping for some of these exceptional glass pieces to take home.

And to pick up from where we left off, the sopping journey continues at the Quatre Bonnes Market, a shopper´s paradise situated just 14 kms away from the capital of Port Louis. Once here you´ll notice that this splendid street market is as busy as Port Louis and just as lively too. You´ll find an array of stores with a wide variety of items and a specialised sale of textile products running every Thursday and Sunday at very attractive prices!

For the day´s final activity; once you´ve satisfied all your shopping needs we head towards the Casela Nature & Leisure Park for some recreational interaction with Mauritius´ largest collection of animals. This park has more than 142 different species of birds and a wide variety of different animals; there is even a special zone where you can get close to the animals, pet them and even hold amazing creatures like turtles, parrots, rabbits and maybe even a kangaroo! There are so many things in this park to see and enjoy that even a full day from morning to evening wouldn´t be enough! But fear not! Whilst on this trip you can make sure you do explore its main highlights such as the Stroll with Lions where you can get close to these incredible creatures and the Petting Farm, the ideal place for children to bond with deer, parrots and other loving creatures. Discover a world of thrilling encounters with peculiar animals like tortoises, monkeys, lemurs, leopard, pheasants and tigers, all coming from different parts of the world!

So now you know the best tour in Mauritius combining the best of shopping and recreational activities! Whether it´s shopping at the quaint markets or exploring the animal kingdom, this is sure to be a fun-filled half day excursion for all!!
