Haa Alifu Atoll
Haa Alifu Atoll has only been open to tourism since 2005 and as a result, it offers an unspoilt and exclusive setting. The beaches are more pristine and the vegetation more lush than anywhere else in the Maldives. Located in the far north of the Maldives, Haa Alifu Atoll is accessed by either a 50-minute flight from Male followed by an exhilarating 45-minute speedboat ride from Hanimadhoo to your island hideaway or a 75-minute seaplane flight from Male. A variety of activities and attractions are on offer including sunset cruises, fishing cruises, trips to local islands and to the sandbank for swimming and snorkelling. It is also an amazing area for diving due to its unspoilt location. A key historic sight on the atoll is the mosque on Utheem Island which was built in the late 1700s. This atoll is a perfect retreat for those wishing escape to paradise.
