Faafu Atoll is just a 35-minute seaplane flight from the capital Male. This atoll is made up of 23 islands and only 5 of them are inhabited. The northeastern side of the atoll is excellent for diving with channels and untouched reefs. The atoll’s lagoon offers fantastic snorkelling and a number of reefs are accessible from the beaches. The island of Nilandhoo at the southern end of the atoll has a rich history. Home to an 800-year-old mosque, it was also an important Hindu place of worship before Islam came to the island. With very few hotels in the area Faafu Attol offers the ultimate deserted island experience. The secluded soft sand beaches and crystal-clear blue waters make Faafu Atoll ideal for honeymooners and those seeking a relaxing getaway.
