The Maldives is an idyllic location in the Indian Ocean, but one that many travellers dismiss as beyond their budget. The Dubai-based Emaar Hospitality Group has revealed that it will debut its Address brand in the Maldives, after signing a hotel management agreement to operate the Address Madivaru Maldives Resort and Spa. The luxury beachfront resort will be located on a private island in the Ari Atoll in the Indian Ocean, and it will have 80 beach and overwater villas.
Visit Maldives has launched a competition inviting travellers to submit videos of their adventures in the country. Entries are open until 12 October 2017 for films showcasing popular local activities such as scuba diving and island safaris, with the winner set to receive more than £4,000 in prize money.
