The Enchanting Costa Rica Tour offers a diverse experience; taking in the capital city of San Jose, the active volcano of Arenal and ending with a relaxing time at the North Pacific Coast. Designed for those with a passion for nature, dramatic scenery and peaceful locations, this Costa Rica Tour offers a journey of exploration with the perfect combination of comfort and adventure.
The tour starts in the capital of San Jose and ends at Playa Hermosa before coming back to the city, for a total of 7 nights and 8 days of eco-adventure.
Day 1 - Arrival in San Jose (No Meals)
This afternoon you will arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport located 20km away from San Jose City. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, a representative will meet you as you exit the arrival terminal building and transfer you to your hotel where you will proceed for check-in. As the main entryway to the country, the Central Valley which includes San José, offers a variety of tourist, cultural and natural attractions, including Costa Rica´s best museums: the Pre-Columbian Gold, Jade, National, Costa Rican Art, La Salle Natural Science, University of Costa Rica Insect and Children´s Contemporary Art and Design Museums. In addition, this region is home to the architectural jewel of Costa Rica: the National Theatre.
Today spend your day relaxing at the hotel. Dinner is on your own.
You will spend 2 nights in San Jose
Day 2 – San Jose (Breakfast and Lunch)
Breakfast is at hotel followed by a direct contact cultural experience at the coffee plantations and some emblematic rural towns in Alajuela province. Evening at leisure and dinner on your own.
The Doka-Grecia and Sarchi tour is a relaxing yet very enjoyable tour. The tour begins with a wonderful drive through some of the largest coffee and sugar cane plantations (Doka) in Costa Rica. This educational and highly enjoyable coffee tour will show how these differences and variety of climatic factors determine the flavour aroma and quality of the final coffee cup, besides enjoy a great traditional lunch. Then we will arrive in Grecia, and we will see the famous metal church. The church that has a rare architecture, with high ceilings, ornate stained glass windows, and classical lines. Next we will move on to the arts & crafts factories of Sarchi recognized all over for their skilled labour and talented artistry; albeit, known primarily for the famous hand painted oxcarts that are built there.
Day 3 – San Jose - Arenal (Breakfast and Lunch)
After breakfast meet with your transportation at the reception of your hotel to depart on a river rafting adventure and then continue to drop off at your hotel in Arenal, with vies of the conical shape of this massive mountain. Lunch included during the excursion and dinner on own. On your way, admire the amazing scenarios while crossing the cloud forest of the Braulio Carrillo National Park. The rafting activity can be substituted by a Chocolate Tour at Tirimbina Biological Reserve if requested in advance.
The Sarapiquí River is known as the scenic river of Costa Rica's tropical rain forest, has its origin on the Deception Depression between the Poás and Barba volcanoes and runs for 85 Km (53 Miles) to the San Juan River, border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua. It is used for rafting through 35 Kilometers, with all the range of difficulty in three different sections. This tour leaves at a local put-in and runs 13 Km. to Chilamate, with an average gradient of 1.2%it can be run year round, and no previous experience is required safe with several accesses

Day 4 - Arenal Volcano (Breakfast)
Breakfast at the hotel; today participants will enjoy a beautiful nature and panoramic walk to Arenal 1968 private reserve.
At Arenal 1968 Reserve you will enjoy an unforgettable experience to enjoy hiking on lava trails of the Arenal Volcano. Two different hiking trails walking on hills formed by lava during the Arenal Volcano 1968 eruption. Find here Los Patos Lagoon, medium difficulty trails through a very original landscape and great panoramic views of Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake (Self-Guided Visit)
At 5,437 feet, the Arenal Volcano looms large and ominous over the pastured green hillsides that surround its base. Although currently in a resting phase, Arenal remained the country’s most active volcano for the past 43 years. In many ways, Lake Arenal is just as monumental as the volcano that rises above its eastern shoreline. With a surface of over 33 square mile (85 square km) and a depth of some 200 ft (60m), it is Costa Rica’s largest landlocked body of water. As such, it provides ample opportunities for activities such as windsurfing, fishing, boating and more.
Afternoon free to enjoy the hotel facilities or taking optional tours. Lunch and dinner are on your own.
Day 5 - Arenal - Hermosa Beach, North Pacific Coast (Breakfast)
Breakfast is to beffered at the hotel. After all this amazing eco-tourism experience, you deserve some relaxing time at the beach, where the sun and the ocean are ready to welcome you. Lunch and dinner are on your own. Evening is at leisure
You will spend 3 nights in the North Pacific Coast
Day 6-7 - Hermosa Beach Area (Breakfast)
Breakfast is included at your hotel. The following days will be at leisure for you to enjoy your hotel facilities, visit El Coco, Panamá and other neighboured beaches, and take time to relax or book any optional activities. Lunch and dinner are on your own. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8 - Hermosa Beach Area - San Jose Int. Airport (Breakfast flight schedule permitting)
Breakfast included at the hotel (flight schedule permit). According to your international flight departure time you will be transferred from your hotel to Liberia Int. Airport (LIR) to take a 50 minutes domestic flight to San Jose, where one of our representatives will be waiting to escort you to the international departures gate at Juan Santamaria Int. Airport (SJO) in San Jose.
