Spend 11 days in a Central American paradise, experience authentic Nicaraguan living, learn about its history and customs, immerse in its lush landscapes and relax at the end of the day in a selection of premium hotels.
Day 1 – Arrival in Managua
After being greeted at the airport by our local representatives, you will be transferred to your hotel – the Real Intercontinental Metrocentro - where you will spend your overnight stay in Managua.
Day 2 – Managua City Tour
After enjoying a hearty breakfast at your hotel, you will proceed to enjoy a full day city tour of Managua, visiting the capital city’s historical centre and taking in all of its highlights. As part of your time discovering this history-rich city which was once destroyed by an earthquake, you will also be visiting residential zones to get an idea of what daily life is like for its inhabitants. Shortly after, you will be climbing the Tiscapa Hill, part of the National Historical Park ‘Loma de Tiscapa and home to what once was one of Nicaragua’s most notorious prisons. From the top, the views of the city below with its two cathedrals and the Momotombo Volcano, are simply breathtaking. And just before you head for lunch, you will be following the trail of the Ancient Footprints of Acahualinca and exploring the natural reserve of El Chocoyero. Lunch is included
Day 3 –San Jorge and Ometepe
Early in the morning, following breakfast at your hotel, you will be departing towards the Port of San Jorge Rivas to take the ferry to Ometepe Island, the largest island of Lake Nicaragua and the largest volcanic island in the world to be located inside a freshwater lake. You will be given a full tour of the island with visits to the famous land spit of Punta Jesus Maria, the Pre-Columbian and Numismatic Museum of El Ceibo, the mythical Charco Verde lagoon and the Museum of Altagracia, where you can admire the astounding Petroglyphs. The rest of the day will be left for you to enjoy at your own leisure. Lunch is included
The overnight stay will be at your hotel in Ometepe, the charming Villa Paraiso.
Day 4 – Ometepe Island
This will be another day to carry on discovering the raw beauty of Ometepe Island. After breakfast you will have some time to enjoy the serenity of the island with a long walk along the tropical forest. Go for a swim in the lake, climb the volcano or just relax on a hammock in the beach. You will enjoy another overnight stay in Ometepe at the Villa Paraiso hotel. Lunch is included
Day 5 – San Jorge and Granada
It’s time to kick off the sand in your shoes and leave Ometepe behind as you take a morning ferry after breakfast and head to the Port of San Jorge, where you will continue towards the pretty colonial city of Granada. After lunch in Granada you will have the rest of the day off to spend as you wish, relaxing and exploring the city on your own before enjoying the full tour the next day. Lunch is included
Your overnight stay in Granada will be at the 5* Plaza Colon.
Day 6 – Granada
Shortly after breakfast you will head to the city centre for the full Granada City Tour. You will be strolling along the main streets to appreciate the architecture of the colourful colonial houses that seem stuck in a different era. Enjoy the walk along the picturesque Colon Park, La Polvora Fort, the Church of La Merced and the San Francisco Convent. You will be taking in the monuments, culture and general warmth of this peculiar city. Afterwards, you will go for a boat ride along the amazing islets of Granada. Lunch is included

Day 7 – Granada - Mombacho
After your delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken on a short transfer to the Mombacho Volcano Nature Reserve where you will be hiking along “El Tigrillo” trail and enjoying the verdant vegetation of a primary forest. This is one of the most popular destinations in Nicaragua’s South Pacific region. Its lush greenery and pleasant micro-climate make it the ideal habitat for thousands of species of flora and fauna, many of which are endemic to the region. In the afternoon you will enjoy a zip-lining experience as you fly across the treetops. Lunch is included
Once again, your overnight stay in Granada with be at the Plaza Colon hotel.
Day 8 – White Towns, Masaya and Managua
An early morning departure is in order after breakfast as you head towards Nicaragua’s White Towns, famous for their crafts. Next, you’re off to Catarina’s viewpoint, which has one of the most beautiful panoramic sites and the greatest lagoon of the country. We will continue to Masaya’s Crafts Market, where we will be able to acquire all the imagined ceramics of the region; Masaya’s Volcano National Park, where we will observe the volcanic activity of San Fernando’s Crater and visit its museum. Lunch is included. Overnight in Managua.
Day 9 – Chinandega and Leon
Today, after breakfast you will be travelling towards Chichigalpa’s Chinandega home town of the famous Nicaraguan rum “Flor de Caña” for a journey through the history of the rum of Nicaragua. Prepare yourself to experience a truly memorable trip to the Flor de Caña recognized as the most awarded rum brand in the world. Continue to Leon for Lunch is included. Rest of the day off.
Your overnight stay will be at Leon's 5* El Convento hotel.
Day 10 – Leon
Early in the morning, not long after breakfast, you will experience the youngest and most excited volcano of all Central America, “Cerro Negro” (Black Forest). Enjoy Sand boarding or just trekking around this imposing volcano. Afternoon city tour of the colonial city of Leon. Lunch is included.
The overnight stay will be at El Convento hotel in Leon.
Day 11 – Managua
Today you wave good bye to Managua as your transfer takes you to the airport for the flight journey back home.
